To wonder what has happened in Sara and Flora Keays legal action

Flora Keays is a woman born to the Late Lord Parkinson and his personal secretary at the time. She is quite severely disabled.
Parkinson never met his daughter but paid maintenance.
However he died in 2016 and left her nothing in his £1m plus will.
Her mother started to contest the will in 2018 but there's no further news on what happened.
I hope they weren't made homeless.

This is where the trail goes dead -

I am just curious as I have always been disgusted by how Lord Parkinson behaved over the whole thing.

As awful as it is, surely it's none of our business. What's your interest in the case?

I expect they gave them a bit of money because. With legal aid which I assume his daughter would be eligible for, they would be able to plough through 1.14 million in legal fees. She has probably been made to sign another gagging order.

1.14 million! Really! that's all he had?

Isn’t there a super injunction type thing in place wrt the daughter? I seem to remember he was able to prevent pretty much any mention of her in public outlets for her whole life. If I’m right then this thread will be taken down.

As I said, my interest is due to the despicable way Parkinson behaved. I have been saying so since 1983. I feel sorry for his daughter. I am aware of the tragic death by suicide of one of his other daughters. I feel sorry for the people still living.

You are partially right, but I understand this ended when he died (possibly before) - the parents agreed to keep details quiet on condition he paid for his child.

But as you. can see upthread, there has been reporting in the public domain since his death (BBC link above).

I think from what I read about removing Sara Keays as Flora's litigation friend that there was a £350k insurance policy that had been earmarked for Flora. But trustees could prevent payouts. Sara wanted a home purchased for her dd as well an allowance. So I would assume this has been settled without a hearing.

It created a furore at the time and there was a lot of sympathy for Sara and her child. But I can understand that from the wife's viewpoint Sara Keays had an affair with a married man which resulted in him not having a position he might have attained and she suffered not only financially but a very upsetting personal situation.

Wills are public documents.
