AIBU to use Veet hair removal cream on

My vagina & anus? (It says not to)

I get regular Hollywood waxes & had one booked for the day after lockdown which obviously never happened!
I really can't stand shaving. It doesn't give you that smooth feeling and it grows back quicker & itchy.
I'm desperate as it has been 7 weeks.

YABU - Don't do it. Just live with it.
YANBU - Do it. I would!

I do this all the time - though I use the sensitive skin one. Never had any problems.

dementedpixie · 09/11/2020 21:15

I assume you mean vulva and not vagina?
It could burn you if it says not to do it

honeyytoast · 09/11/2020 21:16

I have many times and nothing bad happened. Hair removal cream just doesn’t seem to work on me though for some reason.

DeliaOwens · 09/11/2020 21:17

OP, I bought Philips Lumea because I am a 'full Hollywood every four weeks' kinda girl. Lumea has been a game changer for me.

MrsRogerLima · 09/11/2020 21:17

It will BURN and lasts nowhere near as long as waxing. I speak from experience.

Totally not worth it in my opinion because the hair will be back before your skin is done being red and sore. If your unlucky you might even get chemical burns. There's a reason the packet says not to!

littleeggcup · 09/11/2020 21:17

I did this once.... bad bad mistake. I had to run to the shower and put cold water on myself and it basically burnt me down there

throwaway10000 · 09/11/2020 21:17

Depends which product you have. There’s one that’s specifically for the bikini area

DaddysGirlForLife · 09/11/2020 21:17

Oh gosh, yes Vulva Blush

If you can, try and tough it out until salons reopen as the hair removal cream might alter your regrowth cycle. It never does give the same results as waxing! If anything, just trim it?

DaddysGirlForLife · 09/11/2020 21:19

I have this one. Is it a good one?

throwaway10000

I'm talking the whole area, not just the bikini. Shock

You're right, it will mess me up for my next wax. Just worried lockdown will be extended and I won't get to have a wax before Christmas.

Never thought to trim.

Is this a cream? Off to Google. Smile

MrsRogerLima I'm worried it'll burn. Gah.

I have to be honest if you can do the bikini line l figure you can do whole area🤣

IHaveBrilloHair · 09/11/2020 21:25

You need an epilator.

LEELULUMPKIN · 09/11/2020 21:25

How hairy is your arse that you have to even do this?

DobbyTheHouseElk · 09/11/2020 21:25

Cream is the same as shaving in hair removal terms.

It’s basically strong perm solution.

Twigletfairy · 09/11/2020 21:28

Do it and report back with a review Grin

DaddysGirlForLife · 09/11/2020 21:29

DeliaOwens Oh wow!! I love it. Very pricey. Only said you could use it on the bikini area though?

throwaway10000 · 09/11/2020 21:29

I don’t think that’s the bikini version but I think you could get away with using it “everywhere”, as long as it says it’s safe for the bikini area on the back? Just be super careful. Better to be hairy than with chemical burns so don’t leave it on for long! Do 2 sessions on different days if necessary.

With trimming, I had an epilator with a trimming head so it cut the hair really close without properly shaving it.

DaddysGirlForLife · 09/11/2020 21:30

Hahaha!! Hairy enough to need it. I am a brunette (shows more) so that doesn't help.

I use Nair sensitive down there. I'm pretty slap dash with it and just slap it on everywhere. The only time I had an issue was when I made the mistake of using it in the late stages of pregnancy, swelled up like I was starring in a dodgy porno 😂

I've just given away my epilator as was to scared to use it. Shock

Thank-you every for your comments, I'm going to give it a try (just on my vulva) and will report back after my shower.

Hahah! Oh the shame. Needs must though sometimes.

I think you should use Veet wax strips in this situation, I used to do this and it worked very well. I'm doing laser in those areas now and would definitely look into this.
