To think that the garden centre manager nicked my idea? (Lighthearted)

Spot the difference.

On the left is the bespoke garden ornament I lovingly crafted over the summer, made from a battered watering can found abandoned at my parents and a string of fairy lights. This has been hanging outside our house since August.
On the left is the knock off at the local garden centre.
Raging! 😂

Yours is better😁

Smelborp · 08/11/2020 12:28

I like yours better too, but I have seen these ALLLLLL over Pinterest...

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 08/11/2020 12:30

Yours is definitely better.

I saw a video last year of something very similar and now seeing yours I reckon I may give it a go.

Really?

I don't have Pinterest and genuinely hadn't seen one.
I found the watering can and wanted to reuse it. Most people use them as planters but I wanted to do something quirky.

Yours looks great. What sort of lights have you used?

Just a string of LEDs on copper wire from Amazon. Difference between mine and theirs is mine is a single strand that I looped to a certain length whereas theirs is made up of individual strands.

I think Stacey Solomon has done something similar so that may be where the garden centre has got it from.

Yep this. Yours looks nice though.
BawJaws · 08/11/2020 13:11

His looks like it’s pouring wee

A kettle would be a better look 😂

Notthecarwashagain · 08/11/2020 13:13

This was all over the Fb DIY boards a few years back!
Yours look great though!

Sparklingbrook · 08/11/2020 13:14

Yes, I saw Stacey Solomon's a few months ago-it's all her fault. I was wondering if her BFF Mrs Hinch had one.

WhySoSensitive · 08/11/2020 13:23

I’ve seen these everywhere, our village of ten houses all have them. Guessing one person did it and they all fancied a go 😂
Makes pretty lighting in the dark especially as we have no street lights!

MintyMabel · 08/11/2020 13:25

These have been about forever. I had one at my last house we moved out of 7 years ago.

ThatsmyIdea · 08/11/2020 13:26

This is just depressing me now.

Here's me thinking I have a lovely unique thing and you all tell me I'M the copycat! 😂

Oh well. Seriously I'd never seen anything like it before.

Ummm I’m also going to steal this 😅
Looks awesome op !

Bluntness100 · 08/11/2020 13:28

Yours is way better but yes these are very common.

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 08/11/2020 13:30

Looks lovely but very popular on a diy budget gardening page on fb.

Henrietty · 08/11/2020 13:55

Yours looks much better but I’ve seen these many times before. My neighbour has had one in her back garden for years. They sell them on wish, b&m, range etc.

BashfulClam · 08/11/2020 13:57

I saw a version 4 years ago on Pinterest when I was designing my garden. It’s nothing new that you have.

BashfulClam · 08/11/2020 14:00

This is just I’ve of them hundred versions I saw.

Ginfilledcats · 08/11/2020 14:02

Yeah sorry my mum made one of them and has had it in her garden for at least 5 years. As someone said idea likely from Pinterest

Good crafting though, doesn't matter if someone else has done it

BashfulClam · 08/11/2020 14:13

You maybe saw it and didn’t register it x

Fuss · 08/11/2020 14:26

Literally every gardening group on FB has those OP. Sorry.

mogloveseggs · 08/11/2020 14:28
