Toilet lid up or down?

After reading that half of brits apparently leave the toilet lid up when they flush, I’m curious what others do/think?

Personally I always close the lid regardless of contents, I was brought up to do this and teach my DCs the same. I don’t understand how people can leave the lids up when flushing. It also really annoys me when public toilets dont even have lids 🤢

YABU - there is nothing wrong with leaving the lip OPEN when flushing
YANBU - eww no the toilet lid should ALWAYS be CLOSED when flushing

I close the lid then flush. The reason for this is because when you flush, germs can/are blasted out, probably straight in to your face. Nice

I leave the lid down when not in use too

I always have the lid down, especially after watching a programme where they tested the toothbrushes that were left out in the bathroom, they all had fecal matter on them from people flushing the toilet with the lid open 🤮

As above. If it's not closed germs will get blasted around the bathroom and into the person flushing, grim.
