... having to look sad in front of Donald and hide her champagne party for one when inside she’s thinking PRAISE THE LORD! I can get out of here!

Tellmetruth4 · 08/11/2020 09:14

Maybe she can go back to working hard on that Be Best campaign...What happened with that?

Dongdingdong · 08/11/2020 09:14

A lot of jealous women on her wishing they had the life of melania

This is hilarious! Why would anybody want that life?

NetflixWatcher · 08/11/2020 09:15

I always get the impression she is made to be with him. He is revolting but she seems quite nice. I feel sorry for her.

Shimy · 08/11/2020 09:15

@whiskybysidedoor

I don't get why all this bitchiness has to accompany politics. Can't it just be about the politics itself? This is why America is in such a mess.

This why everything is getting a bit scary. The actual politics and finer points of debate have been lost and replaced by stereotyping and blinkered thinking. People can’t seem to hold more than one extreme viewpoint at a time. Celebrities come out and say so and so is a twat and people think yes I don’t like the look to them either and blindly follow. No one asks why or let me have more information on that policy before making a considered opinion they just look at sound bites and impressions and go hardline. It’s terrifying.

Nobody knows anything about that lady or her motives and yet just look at this thread. It doesn’t bode well.

Completely agree with this. I have no idea why people get so riled up about a complete stranger. Most of it supported with, “I read somewhere...” and lots of foul swearing. By all means let’s discuss, but this thread is over the top.
OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 08/11/2020 09:15

And, a minor thing in the scheme of everything, but she ripped out the White House Rose Garden, put in by Jackie Kennedy, and planted flowers more “flattering” to Donald’s complexion. (Like what? Poison ivy?). And spent shitloads of public money“redesigning” rooms in the White House. Looking at the Trump aesthetic, Bidens going to be on Mumsnet saying “look at the shite the previous owners left” or allowing their gorgeous dogs and gc to rampage all over it.

Poppins2016 · 08/11/2020 09:15

@LoganRoy

She's the first person he phones after a speech or rally because he values her feedback.

That’s interesting! They look like they never speak.

I read it more like he values having his ego stroked... I bet he wouldn't value the "feedback" unless it was all positive...
Dongdingdong · 08/11/2020 09:17

He has never been married to one of them for more than 15 years.

He better hurry up and divorce Melania then - they'll be 16 years married in January!

Fluffybutter · 08/11/2020 09:19

They deserve each other , no sympathy here

Fallsballs · 08/11/2020 09:20

Jeff Bezos better watch out...

Dongdingdong · 08/11/2020 09:20

I have no idea why people get so riled up about a complete stranger.

Bizarre, isn't it? I guess they just have very little going on in their own lives.

Jumbogirl · 08/11/2020 09:23

I think they are a perfect match - for anyone interested in myers-brigg, I reckon he is an estp (the Persuader - a total salesman) and she is an istp (the technician - her technical skills are prob focused on style and beauty) - some of my best friends are istps and estps so not dissing the personality type itself. I think they may not split up at all.

InFlagranteDerelicto · 08/11/2020 09:24

@Dongdingdong here. Or perhaps she publicly swatted his hand away, rarely smiles in his presence, negotiated & then renegotiated her prenup, & regularly stays apart from him, because of her deep & lasting affection for him. Who can tell?

I think she's an excellent illustration of the phrase be careful what you wish for.

ClementineWoolysocks · 08/11/2020 09:25

Fucking hell, this vile woman is not a victim.

Mumisnotmyonlyname · 08/11/2020 09:29

No she isn't!

ElliePhillips · 08/11/2020 09:31

@SocksForceFive

No. She's a birther who is as racist and vile as he is.

The Melania tapes revealed her to be a disgusting bigot with zero sympathy for children separated from their parents in internment camps.

There is nothing remotely redeemable about her.

This. All of this. Melanie is NO VICTIM.
Aragog · 08/11/2020 09:32

No sympathy.
She chose to marry him knowing his character.
She can leave if she needs to, I'm sure.

Doobiedooo · 08/11/2020 09:33

I needed to remind myself about the jacket thing, pic posted by PP. I came across this little interview. Don’t have sympathy for her. Check out the little Twitter interview pasted here. bat shit, unempathetic, self important, and steely. IMHO.

Tellmetruth4 · 08/11/2020 09:34

I’m not ‘riled up’ or ‘jealous’ (as if!) at all. Like it or not the US election is the biggest news story and anything connected to it will also be a story. She’s the FLOTUS married to probably the most controversial POTUS who’s just lost his job. People will be interested in her as she is a bit of an enigma.

Aragog · 08/11/2020 09:36

@aramo

A lot of jealous women on her wishing they had the life of melania, but creepy joe is okay to you?
I have a lovely life not married to a misogynist racist spoilt man, thank you. No jealousy here.
KittyLuna · 08/11/2020 09:37

She is a shitty person, yes but why do her looks have to be brought into it again and again?

Yes because no one ever comments on Donald’s looks, do they?

I cannot stand this mindset on here that woman = victim. How patronising.

Applesonthelawn · 08/11/2020 09:38

I think by her own criteria she's done very well in life so feel no pity at all. I think fair play to her. She has used her strengths (her looks and single mindedness) to gain money, that was what she seems to have wanted. She kept her mouth shut, showed up looking lovely when she was First Lady - looked a bit begrudging but got on with it, because she probably understood it was part of the deal. We all make our choices in life and live with the consequences.

Doobiedooo · 08/11/2020 09:39

Dear god, @aramo. No! Wish I had the life of a best selling author. Let alone... oh never mind, @aragog sums it up nicely.

wowfudge · 08/11/2020 09:41

I think they seem well-suited and while they'll no longer be in the spotlight in the same way, they'll go back to their super wealthy lifestyle and life will go on. I don't feel sorry for her - she's enormously privileged.

Hmmph · 08/11/2020 09:49

I think it’s patronising and misogynistic to automatically assume she’s a victim because she’s female. She knew who she married and fully backed and enabled him

This. Just because she is female doesn’t make her a victim.

aramo · 08/11/2020 09:55

The fact your answer is about her husband when we are talking about her speaks volumes, but I will ask again are you ok with a man known as creepy joe?
