Between the porn shop and the crematorium, poor old Rudi didn't know if he was coming or going.

Brilliant. lol

Thanks to all who have educated me as to what a 'coloured revolution' actually means

@user1471565182

Actually ive found one positive thing about Trump, he didnt do that awful phoney claim to irish roots thing they all do since Kennedy and Biden is now revelling in.
It’s not phoney. www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/what-are-joe-biden-s-irish-roots-1.4403488
Apileofballyhoo · 08/11/2020 18:32

In fairness to Obama I don't think he ever tried to claim Irish roots prior to election. I don't even know if he knew.

Zixxy · 08/11/2020 18:43

Oh anyway, Micheal Martin (if allowed to travel, and he will by hook or by crook) could be sharing the shamrock bowl with his Ballina roots mate Joe.

Will be a cracker.

Singasonga · 08/11/2020 18:44

I hate to tell you, but shared roots works over here too. When I tell colleagues in the North that my granddad emigrated from Liverpool and my grandma's family from Berwick-on-Tweed, they actually forgive me for choosing to live in the SE. Grin

What a nice tradition, that's lovely, shows some two way cultural memory too. The highland clearance museums are so sad, so many Scots went to America and Canada when their rents were tripled.

Roussette · 08/11/2020 19:33

Biden has said on many occasions that Yeats was one of the works he used to work on his stutter. He has quoted Seamus Heaney many times

Just reading that warms my heart. What a contrast to Trump who can't even read the very important intel reports, let alone Yeats. At last we will have some brains in the WH

Indeed.

The Irish have punched above their weight over and above their population when it comes to the arts and all that. Well done them.

Apileofballyhoo · 08/11/2020 19:53

Just watched Michael Cohen is MSNBC. Doesn't think Trump will concede because (a) Trump genuinely believes the election has been robbed from him because he genuinely believes he has done a wonderful job and (b) he's afraid of all the coming lawsuits.

JamieLeeCurtains · 08/11/2020 19:57

@RedToothBrush

On what criteria is the title of the 'worst president ever' judged?
Thank you for this.
Zug2 · 08/11/2020 20:24

Jonathan Swan, Axios, is reporting it is not true Jared is trying to get the president to concede, on the contrary he is encouraging him to go the legal route.

Jonathan Swann has a good reputation for accuracy.

SabrinaThwaite · 08/11/2020 20:47

Meanwhile, Biden’s winning margin is still creeping up in Arizona, Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania.

I see the Sunday Express is being used by Trump as evidence.

nauticant · 08/11/2020 20:50

In 10 minutes there's a special Radio 4 programme about Biden:

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000p19r

In 1987 David Frost met Senator Joe Biden, who was seeking his party’s nomination for president. Their remarkable conversation was never broadcast because Biden withdrew from the race soon after, due to accusations of plagiarising a speech by Neil Kinnock. David Frost's son Wilfred presents excerpts from the original two-hour interview, in which Biden talks about his faith, his family and his hopes for America.

Apileofballyhoo · 08/11/2020 20:54

Mmm MSNBC were saying Jared was encouraging him to stay on and fight. Michael Cohen said it's because they're all afraid of him, more or less.

Love the Venn diagram - wondering if he’ll use it to proclaim himself the best ‘worst president’ ever

Zixxy · 08/11/2020 21:03

Trump and his cohorts are laughable now.

No dignity at all, are we surprised? Idiot. Trump should never been in that job at all anyway, but Reds thought he was a great person obv.

Blueberries0112 · 08/11/2020 21:45

He didn't claim to be native Americans either. And 1850 when his ggggrandfather came to America. is not that long ago either. My great-grandfather was born 1885 and My family and I remember him . He passed away in 1984. His parents were born around in the 1850's

If he resign now, maybe Pence as a president will pardon him lol

Lewis Goodall @lewis_goodall
Fascinating line from @maggieNYT on The Daily: “Its hard for me to describe the number of texts I’ve gotten from people close to the President who are not sad about this. Who are relieved about the result. Who did not want to live through another 4 years of a Trump presidency.”

“In their words, literally almost to a fault: it has to end.”

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 08/11/2020 21:55

Trump? he wouldn't claim Native American blood: they were losers, in his lexicon. Not to mention not being the sort of people he wants in his country, ie not the same colour skin as him. Not Norwegian enough.
