There's nothing wrong with wearing an apron in the loo

Dilbertian · 07/11/2020 14:59

If I need to go to the loo while I'm cooking, I leave my apron on. Dh thinks this is rank. He thinks I should take it off first.

Dh doesn't wear an apron while cooking, so if he went to the loo while he was cooking, then he, too, would be wearing the same things in the loo and in the kitchen. He says it's "different ".

Who is BU?

I agree with your husband, I take my apron off if I need to go to the loo.
It’s unhygienic and transfers potentially harmful bacteria from the loo to food 🥴🤢

lazyarse123 · 07/11/2020 15:01

I take mine off. I work in a bakery and take it off there too. I think it is different to wearing your own clothes because they don't usually flap about maybe touching surfaces.

Italiangreyhound · 07/11/2020 15:04

I agree with your husband that wearing an apron in the loo is unhygienic. But then I do wear an apron so I'd say your hubby should too.

GreenPlum · 07/11/2020 15:05

Having worked in the catering and hospitality industry for years and gone on too many food hygiene courses to count, it's a big no from me. Huge misdemeanor.

lockupyourcinammon · 07/11/2020 15:06

Yes that’s gross

PinkSkyBlue · 07/11/2020 15:07

I agree with your husband

Do your regular clothes not do that then?
Aquamarine1029 · 07/11/2020 15:07

You never wear an apron into the bathroom. Gross.

cakeandchampagne · 07/11/2020 15:08

Your husband is right.

BlueistheNewme · 07/11/2020 15:08

You are, but If he wants to comment he can start to wear an apron.

CoffeeCreamandSugar · 07/11/2020 15:09

I’m sorry but I think your husband is right here

nitsandwormsdodger · 07/11/2020 15:10

We are all consuming bacteria and viruses so as long as you wash your hands it's fine

Not ok in a commercial setting

Topseyt · 07/11/2020 15:11

I always take it off and leave it in the kitchen if I need to go to the toilet while preparing food.

I put it back on again when I return. Surely that is more hygienic.

nitsandwormsdodger · 07/11/2020 15:11

How are you all dipping and rubbing your aprons in your food ?

HokeyWokey · 07/11/2020 15:12

Unless you use the apron to wipe your arse, I think it's no different to wearing your normal clothes.

QuestionableMouse · 07/11/2020 15:14

Of course you should take it off. Leaving it on is vastly unhygienic!

Dilbertian · 07/11/2020 15:27

But how is it any different to going to the loo in your own clothes? If you were cooking, and not wearing an apron, and you needed to go to the loo, would you undress completely? Or change your clothes before returning to the kitchen?

If not, then surely keeping the apron on is more hygienic, as I can wipe it down.

This is not in a commercial setting, of course. I would hope, anyway, that someone working in a commercial kitchen would not have their own clothes as the outermost later at any time while in the kitchen.

I keep mine on cause I don't use it to wipe my arse!!

nicky7654 · 07/11/2020 15:30

Some people are so anal these days!!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 07/11/2020 15:31

I think I agree with your husband but neither of us wear an apron when we cook so it's not something I've ever thought of (not that I cook very often!)

FippertyGibbett · 07/11/2020 15:33

Ew, take it off.

Sparklingbrook · 07/11/2020 15:34

I never wear an apron, I don't see the point of them because I don't cook in my best clothes. Grin But if I did I would take it off to go to the loo because I would find it easier.

Namechangeme87 · 07/11/2020 15:37

Iv never worn an apron however , how is this different to wearing your clothes to cook am going to the loo? Confused

slipperywhensparticus · 07/11/2020 15:37

Both are bad year you should remove the apron but he is a fucking hypocrite if he thinks his clothes are magically shielding him from germs

Ugzbugz · 07/11/2020 15:46

I only sometimes wear an apron but would never wear it on the loo as find it gross but what's the difference in wearing clothes thinking about it .

Canteen staff at my work always wear their aprons to our manky loos 🤢🤢
