To ask what you think will happen when we have a vaccine?

So when there is a vaccine but it's only for the flu vaccine group, do we think it will be mandatory for travel and paid for like current travel jabs?
And will other people also be able to pay for it like the flu jab?

I hope so. I think I’d probably get it as I’m a dentist and DS, DH and my parents get NHS flu jabs but if we didn’t qualify I’d like to be able to pay for it.
In terms of mandatory for travel- makes sense and might save the travel industry.

I'm in the flu jab group myself and I read they were ordering enough for us (flu jab) group to have two doses each.
I don't know enough about vaccine manufacturing but I assume the company that makes one that works will make a shed load more.

I can imagine it could be required by some countries to go there.

In general I think there is a danger that once there is one, but before the vaccine is available to all, people let down their guard.

I doubt it will be mandatory. There are very few countries who would impose that level of control. I think it’s more likely that a vaccination certificate would remove the need to quarantine in the short term.

Longer term hopefully it will be more like flu, with relatively high uptake and no need for controls. Hopefully.

I think you’ll be able to buy one relatively soon, same as testing, as it helps the companies recoup some of their costs without government funding.

I think this winter/early spring when it becomes available it'll only be available on the NHS and only for frontline health workers and those in the vulnerable groups. Next winter I think it'll be widely available and that people will be able to pay for it privately like they can with the flu jab. Probably in years to come it'll be combined with the flu jab and you'll get one jab each winter that contains your 3-4 strains of that years prevalent flu plus your CV19 booster.

This is my worry too.
