Paid £7k for a new bathroom AIBU about a chip in shower tray?

Just that really. My new bathroom is complete and looks lovely. Apart from a slight 3mm chip in the shower tray. AIBU to say something about this and expecting them to rectify before paying the full balance of £1000? Or am I being way too precious about this?

I mean, can you buff a small chip out of an acrylic shower tray??

It is going to irritate you every time you have a shower

Nah tell them. Most of the good reputed builders are perfectionists and will help you fix or replace.

A plastic surgeon would be able to fix a chip. Often their repairs are only guaranteed for a year or two though. Saying that, we've been in our house nearly 4 years and our chipped acrylic tray that was repaired by the builders' plastic surgeon is still looking ok. Couldn't even tell you where the chip is now.

Tell them.
It can be professionally fixed with resin and buffed. Or they can replace the shower tray.

You've paid top end and the job should be perfect. Do not pay the balance until this is sorted out.

You paid for a properly completed job-this isn’t it. Definitely complain

Thanks for that feedback. I will tell them when they call for the balance tomorrow that I want it sorting.

Good to know I'm not just making a fuss.
