To expect boss to respond to message that I’m in hospital?

I’m 25 weeks pregnant and fell on the stairs earlier today and am in hospital getting checked out. As soon as I was asked to come in for monitoring by triage I emailed my boss - he was in a meeting at the time - explaining what had happened and saying I’d keep him updated. Some 4 hours later and I’ve just checked my email to find no response at all from him. AIBU to have expected some “hope you’re ok, don’t worry about work” type message? Slightly staggered at the radio silence and am feeling a bit hurt tbh!

Maybe he's been in meetings? I would forget about it. If he doesn't say anything when you go back, that would be a different matter. Hope you're ok.

I wouldn't read too much into it - boss may be concerned about saying the wrong thing or just caught up in work.

Hope you are both ok x

Maybe he has assumed that you won't be logging on today to see his message and/or doesn't want to hassle you with work messages. Personally I think it's a bit odd, but it might come from a good place?
