Hello,
So sorry I’m posting here for traffic.
I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS but the consultant I’ve seen is not great IMO, please could anyone recommend anyone else?

I’m really anxious about it snd would really like to start treatment soon. Would really appreciate any advice!!!

What intervention are you wanting to have?
PCOS is a metabolic condition which often presents with gynae symptoms so I suppose what I mean is what aspect of the PCOS is an issue to you and you can start from there.

PCOS has no specific "treatment" but i know a number of things that help with the symptoms of it.

Losing weight is a major thing! and you can get drugs to help regulate your periods and the unwanted facial hair.

i went from having 1 period a year to having monthly periods after i lost weight and became more active!

I had an ultrasound a few months back as my partner and i are having IVF next year and they said my ovaries were looking good and there was nothing . i thought our IVF need was because of my PCOS but turns out it was my partners abnormal sperm! so i think i may have slightly reversed the symptoms if thats possible

hope that helps :)

I recently saw Dr Michael Dooley and cannot recommend him highly enough! Contact him via his website.

@yikesanotherbooboo It’s only been a couple months since my periods have been irregular, so I was hoping they’d go back to normal. I’m also overweight and havinga lot of trouble losing the excess so wanted treatment/help with that?

@AmbroseBierce okay will do! Was hoping for a female Gynae but I will take anyone that’s good!
If it’s not too much to ask, what treatment did he suggest for you?

@Unitedtemperature124
awh thank you :)

i originally started with Slimming world but unfortunalty, they dont teach you how to maintain weight and i just found their methods unrealistic in day to day life.

Calorie deficit is the only way to lose weight properly and keep it off. I never believed this until i joined Munro fitness. He teaches you all the proper stuff about nutrition and been active. He is on instagram if you fancy having a nose.

Hope it all works out for you!

I agree ; your first step is weight loss. Different methods suit different people but at the end of the day it is eating less and doing more. SW/WW/ low carb/ intermittent fasting or old fashioned but effective calorie counting. Talk to your GP then if your periods don't return.
