To ask if I will need a PAC or STAC code

I have come into a phone contract with Vodafone and waiting on the phone being delivered. I have currently been using a phone thats under contract under my partners name as a birthday present a few years back. We are cancelling this contract as it is up and putting the new contract in my name. As no other phone is in my name will I still need a STAC code from this number as I want a new number

Which network is the old phone with? If it's with Vodafone, you'll need a STAC code. If it's with another network, you'll need a PAC code.
