I'd say:

Navy/green
Botanicals
Jungle print
Gold accents

In the past few years "everyone" painted at least one wall navy, or maybe dark green, and lots of jungle, gold, marble etc. Very opulent and moody.

But now it's reached Wilko and George at ASDA so I think the trend coming up will push against this - returning to white, or bright, fun ice cream shades used together - a bit like this www.instagram.com/p/CATGVWfHapC/?igshid=ft0fn54fy29y

DotTheCaddy · 05/11/2020 09:43

Hmm I'm not a fan of that @nanbread

Much prefer the greens/jungle vibe.

Grey, navy.

Serin · 05/11/2020 09:59

DD came home for lockdown and despaired of our taste. She "modernised", got rid of the grey and the navy and everywhere is white/morrocan tiles/plants/stripped wood/wicker baskets/Tim Walker prints.
I actually love it.

Bluegrass · 05/11/2020 10:51

The problem with greys is that there is a huge range of shades, warm and cool, light and dark, but I think a lot of people just use them as they think they are on trend without properly considering the room, the colour of the light, and what they are aiming to achieve. That’s why you often see greys used that suck the life out of a room when what it probably needed was a grey that would warm it up.

It’s also true that for some people greys are calming, and that is exactly the feeling they want in a room. For others greys are just dull, and they long for a bit of colour.

It’s exactly why we don’t all go for the same colour clothes, what works for one person might be awful on another or make them feel really uncomfortable. There is no sense criticising the colour of someone’s room if it creates the feeling they want for them, any more than you can criticise the colour of a jumper they’ve chosen. As long as they are happy with their choice, they are the one who lives with it!

Yellow is the colour? Just no.

lovelemoncurd · 05/11/2020 14:36

@DotTheCaddy Thank you. It will probably not be on trend soon but hey ho I like it.

27Yardsofdentalfloss · 05/11/2020 14:58

Everything seems to be grey, blush, ochre or navy at the moment. Or art deco inspired. Or a combination of both. I'm finding it hard to find cushions, rugs etc that are not any of the above!

Navy yes! Seeing navy walls everywhere and dark green too! I think dark colours make a room look so cosy!

I do love white walls with colourful furniture and prints too.

LioneIRichTea · 05/11/2020 16:02

Oh another thing is black. Black walls and black fittings, so matte black taps and shower heads, love it.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 05/11/2020 20:25

Watch out for the black fixtures if you're in a hard water area!

DotTheCaddy · 05/11/2020 21:10

I've not seen any black yet! Plenty of gold though.

Damn! It’s chalk central here, boo!

nanbread · 06/11/2020 10:56

Yes black or almost black walls is an edgier version of navy, we're reaching peak dark blue if where I live is any indication. So over it.

I've also noticed a few v trendy people paint their rooms in paean black by F&B which is an almost red/purple black.

rbmilliner · 06/11/2020 12:24

😂 @nanbread - my husband painted the walls of his first house that colour green and friends - , and me - teased him mercilessly over almost 20 years ago calling it the pea pod.
I'm not going to tell him it's now fashionable although his was teamed with shag pile carpet s and Miami colour theme
