I'd say:

Navy/green
Botanicals
Jungle print
Gold accents

@Frolicinameadow

Orange, Hermes orange to be exact. It’s going to be a big accent colour particularly against the dark walls I do see a trend back toward creams, browns over the next few years. To give some warmth after the dreary grey
Yes, I can see this. And it would go along with the mid-century trend which seems to be drifting into the 70s.
Mumisnotmyonlyname · 03/11/2020 23:18

My vote is for caramel and brown tones, given that's a clothes fashion item now.

Queenest · 03/11/2020 23:18

Agree all threads are playing up

YellowEllis · 03/11/2020 23:21

@Stinkyjellycat

What the fuck is going on with this thread?!
I'm so glad to see this comment, I started to think I was drunk or psychic.
Skysblue · 03/11/2020 23:34

Everyone is soooo bored of neutrals. Anything with some personality is on trend.

FuckYouCorona · 04/11/2020 00:36

Grey. Who cares though? Pick what you like!

TigerBrite · 04/11/2020 00:38

Scandi Noir.

PumpkinPieAlibi · 04/11/2020 00:40

Midcentury modern design
Scandi design
Blonde wood tones
Rattan
Maximalist wallpaper
Jewel-toned paint colours - navy, emerald in particular
Brass/gold accents
Two-tone kitchen cabinets

Ohtannenbaumohtannenbaum · 04/11/2020 00:41

@Mogtheforgetfulmum

Pampas grass Rattan furniture Round mirrors Antique looking rugs Panelling
Definitely these! I'm partial to a round mirror myself.

Those macrame light fittings too 🤢

PumpkinPieAlibi · 04/11/2020 00:42

Also terrazzo, large antique mirrors and statement lighting eg. sputnik lights, large pendants etc

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 04/11/2020 00:51

I've seen at least four people buying/commissioning a full-wall bookcase, but with lots of different sized sections, rather than shelves. Most have cupboards at the bottom, and two have a space for the television in the middle.

Holyrivolli · 04/11/2020 00:58

@Autumnblooms. Erm. We’ve got a navy room and a dark green room. I wasn’t convinced at first but they actually look lovely. It can look a bit gloomy unless the lighting is good but it does give a very cosy, adult feel to the house.

thosetalesofunexpected · 04/11/2020 01:10

Hi Op Botanical prints and Jungle prints not sure about other patterns you mentioned
I am into same kind of ecletice style kind thing,its more interesting.@Bouledeneige

Handsnotwands · 04/11/2020 01:18

Everyone seems to be glueing strips of mdf to their walks, which is.....shortsighted

WhoWants2Know · 04/11/2020 01:20

Macrame, navy blue and houseplants

minipie · 04/11/2020 01:23

Grey was in (for ages), now is out
Navy was in next, now is out
Dark green and other jewel tones were in next, now out

Now it’s all earthy tones, terracotta, warm neutrals. Lots of wood and wicker and rattan. And plants. So of course this will be out soon.

No idea what’s coming next but I am going to guess... white. And black.

DotTheCaddy · 04/11/2020 07:29

This thread has gone a bit wacky!

I personally love the navy and green. I wasnt a huge fan of the all grey everything look but everything is a lot more colourful and exciting at the mo!

Just bought 5l of Little Greene's Canton as a feature wall for the bedroom. I'm usually not one for strong colours so...this will be an adventure!

@LedaandtheSwan that's fab!!

PerfidiousAlbion · 05/11/2020 00:09

Everything seems to be black, industrial vintage, dark wood, black metal everything. Brushed gold fittings, botanical prints, wall paper and object d’art.

Not to my taste.

SarahBellam · 05/11/2020 01:06

Yellow, wood, warmth, vibrancy, cosy, comforting, Ercol/GPlan/Nathan furniture, crochet, art nouveau, designing the house you want to live in rather than the one you think you might want to sell in a few years. Sea, beach, ocean, holiday style rooms.

We want comfort, escapism and relaxation.

DotTheCaddy · 05/11/2020 08:45

Off to Google nathan furniture now...

OP posts:
MotherOfFrenchies · 05/11/2020 09:28

Steampunk
Deep dark matt walls
Macrame

VanillaSpiceCandle · 05/11/2020 09:33

Macrame wall hangings and planters everywhere. Gallery walls and framed posters and also propping framed prints up instead of hanging them on the wall.

MonkeyGoneToHeaven · 05/11/2020 09:37

The fake panelling (i.e. strips of MDF glued to walls as pointed out by a PP) is going to be a nightmare to remove in five years' time when the next owners of the house find that it will also take chunks of the plaster with it.

Real panelling is beautiful; glued-on squares of moulding, painted navy less so. But each to their own.
