DH blaming me for flat tyre

MmmmWine · 03/11/2020 21:19

DH has had to go away with work today to meet an urgent deadline before the next lockdown.

He rang tonight blaming me because his car had got a flat tyre and he was in the garage trying to change it.

I last drove the car yesterday.

He drove it over 80 miles today before this happened.

He blames me because my own car has been in the garage 4 times -yes 4 - recently for a cracked alloy (same wheel so obviously weakened) which had been welded but has since been repaired by a brand new alloy. He thinks I keep hitting potholes.

Of course there’s a back story to this but please answer.
AIBU?

Do you keep hitting potholes?

gamerchick · 03/11/2020 21:23

He's stressed and is trying to dump it into you. Dont accept it. Tell him to find another way to release stress before he speaks to you next. Flat tires happen, they suck but meh.

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 03/11/2020 21:26

He would not have been able to go 80 miles on a tyre you had damaged.

Princessbanana · 03/11/2020 21:27

Tell him to fuck right off and he could of ran over a nail or whatever in his 80 miles of driving it himself. Take the bus or use your own car in future and refuse to use his. Also, replace alloy so you have no more flats. Leave a few nails behind his car wheel each evening and sit back and smile while he try’s to work that one out!😆 obviously remove the nails after he’s left everyday!

Yanbu. Of course you are not- 80miles on a damaged tyre? Not happening. You haven't had flat tyres on your car- you've damaged your alloys?
Had you dented his alloys hitting potholes? Yes he'd have an argument, a leg to stand on. The tyre is unrelated imo

I had a nail last over 700 miles once before it caused any deflation. He's being a prick.

EL8888 · 03/11/2020 21:38

Yep he’s being a prick. Does he usually try to blame you and not take responsibility for things?

I've somehow managed to post this numerous times. Would anyone be able to report the others for me please? Can't see how to on my phone.

If my DH would speak to me like that I'd be tempted to cut the brakes for his next trip...
