DH blames me for flat tyre

DH has had to go away with work today to meet an urgent deadline before the next lockdown.

He rang tonight blaming me because his car had got a flat tyre and he was in the garage trying to change it.

I last drove the car yesterday.

He drove it over 80 miles today before this happened.

He blames me because my own car has been in the garage 4 times -yes 4 - recently for a cracked alloy (same wheel so obviously weakened) which had been welded but has since been repaired by a brand new alloy. He thinks I keep hitting potholes.

Of course there’s a back story to this but please answer.

YANBU, OP. Definitely not. I'm sorry to hear you're being blamed for something which clearly isn't your fault. Even if it was - flat tyres happen! It's just one of those things, the road surfaces where I am are rubbish.

billy1966 · 03/11/2020 21:48

Rubbish. Of course it's not your fault.

Does he usually blame you for stuff that is beyond your control and nothing to do with you, whilst you are not even physically there? 🙄

Twat.

Yanbu. It isn't your fault.

If my DH would speak to me like that I'd be tempted to cut the brakes for his next trip...

I used to work on cars there is no way this is your fault. He’s horrible to talk to you like that . What a horrible way to talk to you. He should definitely apologise.

SidneyCasing · 03/11/2020 22:43

What an odd thing to allocate blame for. Is he normally one who finds fault in everything?

ArranBound · 03/11/2020 22:45

Your husband is a plonker.

SBTLove · 03/11/2020 22:46

trying to change it?
Can the poor wee man not manage so has to blame his wife?
what a bellend🙄

Flat tyres are pretty much aways caused by debris on the road. He wouldn't have been able to drive 80 miles on a flat tyre thus he ran over something sharp during his trip. It happens. It's a hazard of driving.
