Implation bleeding or early miscarriage?

Posting here for traffic as had no response on pregnancy forum. We have been trying for our 2nd baby since July. I last had my period 4th October so would have been due the next one yesterday/today however I've had spotting on and off for the last week, sometimes heavy, sometimes light and sometimes red but other times brown. With my 1st pregnancy I had implantation bleeding but it was only for a day or so. I took a test today out of curiosity which has shown up positive. Has anyone experienced this kind of bleeding in early pregnancy and its gone on to be successful or should I expect the worst? I don't know how long to leave it before testing again if it is a loss and the test becomes negative?

No one here can tell you OP :(

Test again in a few days but my feeling is that the bleeding isn’t anything to do with pregnancy. Brown blood = old blood, it should only appear at the end of your monthly bleeding so something is a bit odd. If you turn out not to be pregnant, then Go to a private gynaecologist and ask for an internal colour ultrasound to see if you have any polyps / fibroids / endometriosis/ a bit of old tissue in there that needs dealing with. Get a full Std test as well just in case there is a lingering old infection that you aren’t aware of.

That said what do I know lol, perhaps is an early pregnancy 🤷‍♀️

Good luck xx
