Did anyone else think Boris's slides were dreadful on Saturday?

What happened to titles and labelling the axes? If you missed what they said you were stuffed on some of them. Proper primary school stuff.

I thought they were easy to understand, and they were the other two ‘S slides not boris’s

BertiesLanding · 02/11/2020 14:28

I found them pretty simple to understand.

They were dreadful. And what kind of idiot is incapable of clicking onto the next slide for themselves. The “next slide, please” does my head in.

triceratops12 · 02/11/2020 14:29

No I thought they were sloppy, clearly put together very quickly in a panic though which is understandable. They hadn't even been made to fit the screen

YANBU- it was like something out of the Office

The BBC cut off a few of the axes on the graph by not fitting it on the screen properly. We watched on sky news - that said some of the graphs were terrible, particularly the one the NHS made. Without outing myself too much, I used to make some of the slides for these press conferences and I think the fact it was on a Saturday and only decided on the day can’t have helped the quality!!

I agree. They didn’t fit the screen so you couldn’t read the axis. It looked rushed!

I deal with spreadsheets and graphs at work and found the slides on Saturday utterly dreadful (and the BBC cutting the edges off did not help).

This is a really good article about them: www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/blog/governments-coronavirus-data-presentation-downslide

I thought they were easy to understand, and they were the other two ‘S slides not boris’s. Well he's kind of in charge, being the PM and all that. It wasn't how easy they were to understand- they could have done with a simple headings such as 'hospital admissions' or 'deaths'.
