Yes, I’m sure they will, they need to work and cannot work from home.

CatsAndEyeliner · 02/11/2020 07:52

It depends on their clients I guess. If they’re not needed during lockdown then they can’t work.

Hi! I'm a dog walker and yes, we can work as normal following CFSG guidelines.

Are you a dog walker or an owner whose walker is choosing not to work?

HelloChompy · 02/11/2020 08:34

I'm also a dog walker and will be continuing to work through lockdown, unless clients advise me that they don't want me to come. As mentioned by a PP, we can't work from home.

I hope our amazing dog walker can continue to work. We have set up the hallway with wipes and hand sanitiser. We clean our dogs collar and lead and wipe door handles before we leave. She has the option to do the same when she drops off (but we don’t expect her too, we wash hands, wipe down etc when we get home.) I think all her clients have a similar approach.

I think that they can still work. It's an outside job, they don't have to meet anyone for more than a second or two, you just hand over the dog at your door/gate and off they go!

However, we'll have to see what the detail of the regulations says.

vanillandhoney · 02/11/2020 10:42

Just to add we were able to work through the March lockdown so no reason why we'd have to shut this time around.

Buddytheelf85 · 02/11/2020 10:49

Our dog walker is carrying on. You’re allowed to leave your home for work. And they work outside anyway so it feels like pretty low risk work.

We actually don’t need her to walk the dog if we’re both at home but we’re going to carry on sending him because she needs the business.

80sShoulderPads · 02/11/2020 11:52

I'd like to carry on sending my young dog because a) it's good for his socialisation and it's good exercise, and b) my walker needs the business.

The dog has a tiny cut on his leg though, I might have to bench him...
