Thanks x

Prefer a light small one with good suction which is suitable for carpets laminate and mattresses x

None. They all fall over when you try to move them.

PancakesAndSyrup · 01/11/2020 14:21

I've got a hetty pet and I really like it. It works great on the laminate floors and the carpet. Also good for cleaning the car as it came with a few attachments.

Tootsey11 · 01/11/2020 14:35

Get one of the older models, the new ones out now are no where near as good as the older ones.

I'm a cleaner, I get to use lots of different ones. The new fittings also never stay attached into each other.

And I would recommend a turbo head, can be bought for about £15. These are fabulous on carpet even thick pile.

YoniAndGuy · 01/11/2020 14:46

Good, but the massive issue is how dreadfully they manoeuvre.

Literally unless they are facing the way you want them to turn with all feet in the right direction they will NOT move or fall over.

Drives me mad.

Mysa74 · 01/11/2020 14:47

I bought a second hand Hetty from Facebook marketplace as a temporary measure when my Dyson blew up. 5 years later in still using it and have abandoned all plans to buy anything else. Shes brilliant only cost me £20 and a couple of pounds for a reusable bag to go inside from eBay. You can go from carpet to laminate easily, She's so efficient, I'm surprised she hasn't sucked up the rug!

louise4745 · 01/11/2020 14:47

Thanks all. I've had so many vacuums. I was hoping if I got one of these it would last. I thought the smiley face would also make the kids want to clean their rooms 🙈😂

@Mysa74 exactly. The old models are great. Ours is 16 years old and is fantastic. The new ones out have not got the same suction and the pipes will not stay connected. Drop apart when moving from room to room.

I have a Henry. Bought in January. I HATE it. It is awful. Falls over constantly, gets stuck all the time, like if it's right beside the couch and you try to pull it, it won't come. I have to go back and pull it away whatever it's touching.
I think I'm going to dump it and buy something else. Seriously don't buy one!!Grin

Hate to say it but I agree with every word. And yes to pipes falling apart!

Ours is probably ten years old or so.

I think Henry is rubbish although I do quite like his cheerful face. I definitely won’t buy another when this one breaks down (and might even help it on its way...)

mrsdavegrohl · 02/11/2020 16:49

Hetty or Henry 160. Same suction as full size but slightly smaller, a lot lighter and more nimble

copperoliver · 02/11/2020 17:24

I like hetty. But I also have a cordless Henry. ( I'm a bit obsessed with hoovers.). X

SamanthaJayne4 · 02/11/2020 17:33

I have Hetty Extra. It has two wide cleaning heads one of which is an airbrush. The air being sucked in causes a bristle rotar bar to turn. The suction is adjustable by turning a rubber ring on the handle. I think being pink and with a face it is quite jolly! It also has a long flex. I am pleased I bought mine.

inappropriateraspberry · 02/11/2020 17:51

Hate those things! Clunky, never go where you want them and a pain to change the bags.

Skysblue · 02/11/2020 22:29

We got one recently cos of all the hype. I hate it and am still using my old semi-broken bosch. The henry is SO loud and the attachment won’t stay attached. 😡

Skysblue · 02/11/2020 22:30

Oh yeah and if you have long hair the rotating bristle brush ends up with hair wound all round it, gonna be trickyto get off guess I’ll have to use scissors

Smallsteps88 · 02/11/2020 22:38

I have the green Henry pet numatic and Henry cordless. Henry cordless is nice and light and not noisy. I use him for work (cleaner) and he’s so handy. He does get stuck on corners though.

The big turbo heads are good for carpets but if you have long hair or pets the hairs wind round the roller brush and takes a lot of maintenance to keep clean.

I find my shark lift away with anti hair wrap roller brilliant for pet and human hair.

Henry extra is brilliant. I had an issue with mine staying together and their customer service was excellent.
