Straight woman here too, and I have spent time googling uk punting and adult work too due to threads on mumsnet making me curious. Pretty grim reading. Same sort of morbid curiosity that gets me googling serial killers’ transcripts and all sorts of weird and horrible stuff.

I’m sure some folk look up this stuff for all sorts of completely different reasons. Some will be sleazebags some won’t. Seems a weird premise of a thread to think that anyone’s opinion and experience would be definitive!

As with anything OP some people will, some won't. His assertion that "all" men do is clearly wrong. As a side note does anyone else get pissed off with the assumption from those who do that anyone who says they doesn't is lying? Do they justify it to themselves as "It must be ok - everyone does it"? [Not just in relation to this but I've also seen it on posts about porn, insurance fraud, minor dishonesty such as being given the wrong change etc etc]

And my DH definitely doesn't. He's not a porn user either, and the one time he scrambled to delete the screen he was looking at when I came into the room I knew instantly what was going on. He'd been looking at cat rescue sites two weeks after our elderly cat had been put down and we'd agreed not to rehome others until we'd moved house. And the reason I knew was because I'd been looking at the same sited that lunchtime.

I'm a man. I've never done it as that's not something I've ever been curious about, but I wouldn't think twice about looking up anything I did feel curious about. Actions and intent matter a lot more than a bit of Googling

I imagine it's quite common for a lot of men to have a cheeky look on adultwork, if for nothing else out of curiosity to see of anyone they know locally is on there!

Isn't it funny that after being abused then sex trafficked/pimped out/raped/countless men ignoring my cries for help and actively making my situation worse I feel wary around men butbif I say eg I don't like walking home alone after dark, I don't want to be home alone with a male tradespeople I'm told NOT ALL MEN, people berate me and tell me I'm awful and a man hater and NOT ALL MEN but then when men are trying to 'get out of trouble' with their wife or excuse their behaviour its all men -all men Google escorts, all men go to strip clubs, all men watch violent and degrading porn, none of my friends are expected to come home and look after the kids and cook and clean their wives do it etc
