Good evening Mumsnet Vipers. Could you have a look at this black lumpy thing near my eye and tell me if I should see a real doctor about it.

I’ve had it at least 4 years but I do think it’s getting bigger. I had to see a dermatologist about something else a couple of years ago and asked her to check it out. She thought it was a harmless blood vessel. Also she said it was so small she couldn’t really see it. You can definitely see it now. What do you think?

Why on earth wouldn’t you at least ask an optician or pharmacist or GP??

PurpleDaisies · 30/10/2020 22:33

Yes. You should see a real doctor.

CGWGWOO · 30/10/2020 22:34

Because my DH only told me today that he thought it was much bigger. But thanks for your comment.

Take a photo, call your GP and send the photo to your GP.

Harmarsuperstar · 30/10/2020 23:29

Yes, see a doctor

CarterBeatsTheDevil · 30/10/2020 23:37

I think there is a good chance that the dermatologist was right but I would still ask your doctor to be on the safe side.

That skin doctor lady on telly...
could be all sorts but most likely benign. I would be afeard if it getting bigger & uncomfortable so would try to get it removed.

Might be difficult in near future, irk.

NorthernBirdAtHeart · 31/10/2020 02:34

You lost me at Vipers.

Yes see a doctor. No idea what it is but you don't want that near your eye ideally.

Mollymalone123 · 31/10/2020 03:01

See your gp as it has got bigger. Take a photo as our gp can send photos electronically to dermatologist at our hospital for advice.

Georgeoftheinternet · 31/10/2020 03:07

lol so many triggered Vipers. What does it mean

CGWGWOO · 31/10/2020 09:16

Vipers is a generic term used to describe the Mumsnet massive.
