Teaching application question

question13124 · 30/10/2020 21:12

Hi!
I am applying for a teaching job.
The supporting statement is imbedded into the application form so I do not need a separate document for it.
I need to send this application form to the school email address.
However, I am not sure whether I am supposed to attach a cover letter to this as there is no mention of it in the job advert. Just a 'please send application form to this email address'.
I have a cover letter written out and I have personalised it to the school but it is a page long and I am unsure whether the school will want this along with the supporting statement?

Or do I just introduce myself in the body of the email rather than attach a cover letter?

I hope this makes sense. My mind is everywhere after spending a couple of days perfecting my statement.

Could you put your cover letter into the body of the email as that would be the 'cover letter' in this case?

I wouldn't bother with the covering letter. Just the completed form to the email address like they said.

No need to do a cover letter/email ime. Just send the application with a “please find attached.....”

They don’t need to read the same thing twice. Good luck!

I’m assuming you've tailored the personal statement to the school (the one that’s embedded in the application)?

Usually covering letters are needed and wanted for private school apps but for state schools just the application form with the supporting statement. A short letter attached with your details formally on it and saying please find enclosed my application form for the position of at. school is all that is wanted. A cover letter would usually be discarded I'm afraid.
