Dear MN hive mind, I've had a very strange experience today.
I am trying to get a bespoke product for a club activity - probably about 15 items and people need different sizes.
So lets say I went to my contact with a request for 15 blue t-shirts with short sleeves. It turns out that I can't get 15 short sleeved t-shirts, but I could get green long-sleeved ones. I said I wasn't sure my "customers" would want the green ones, but once I checked, they do. But then we discovered that the green ones have a limited size range, so we may need to get some yellow short sleeved ones for some people.
Supplier seems to be really annoyed that "we can't make our minds up". Well, the blue I asked for isn't available, and the green isn't available in all sizes. So we need to be flexible as customers and go for yellow as well as the green? We can't keep asking for the blue he doesn't have?
