Bloody men and computer games

I'm pepared to be told that it's not a big thing in the grand scale, but. I took my car in for its MOT earlier. Husband followed me and then drove me home. Got home and I had to take a work call (WFH, luckily work very flexible, husband had finished). While on the work call, the garage called. I asked my husband to answer my phone and he looked at me like I'd shit on his shoe, and gestured towards his iPad. He was playing World of Tanks (world of wanks in this house) Background, we nearly split up a few years ago over his compulsive game playing, and he swore he wouldn't go back to 'tournament playing'. He used me running with a friend as an excuse to start play one day a week again and is now playing in tournaments a couple of days a week. He works shifts so goes to bed early, by the time he's finished, he's heading off to bed. He's being a twat again, isn't he? He would happily spend the weekend playing and giving minimal interaction to the kids. Thankfully, they're teenagers and don't like is that much anyway lol.

Whilst I understand the frustration, I think you need to ask whether this about you not liking his particular hobby or about the amount of time he spends. For example, would you expect him to quit halfway through a game if he was playing football or a game of squash?

A lot of people think you can just put down the iPad, but with online games you're usually penalised for quitting early and it's a bit crap for the other player too.

I don't currently have a games machine as sold it to stop me getting distracted from gym, but when I used to play online with a mate my partner wouldn't expect me to drop everything during a heated match if it was a phonecall that could be returned in a few mins. Tbh you could probs just turn up at garage and collect car without even calling, although obvs best to call back.
