Should I see a doctor

Or am I wasting their time particularly at the moment?
Over the past 2 weeks I’ve had chest pain which comes and goes, can be quite severe but is accompanied by wind, burping and general digestion issues.
I’ve never had indigestion before ever but this is happening every single time I eat or drink.
Should I make an appointment or hang fire for another week and see what happens? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. Thanks

I’d make an appointment. If it is a gastric reflux issue, a PPI could improve your symptoms quite quickly and prevent further damage to your stomach.

Have you tried any over the counter indigestion remedies?

Have you tried an antacid or medication like gaviscon? Speak to a pharmacist and try one. Heartburn is actually acid reflux and has it’s name because it does present as chest pain.

Obviously if you have other symptoms you should seek medical advice.

I actually hadn’t thought of getting something from the chemist! Will do that now. I was a bit worried as it’s all so unusual for me - probably my age! Thanks

Yes, you need to consult your GP - it’s important to rule out the more serious causes of such symptoms, before just assuming it is reflux.
It would be useful to tell your GP whether or not your symptoms are relieved by antacids or PPI drugs such as omeprazole, which you can buy yourself to test.
