And if not how should I do it?

2 months ago I went to the GP about a rubbery lump in my neck. It's a bit bigger than chickpea size. The GP couldn't feel it though - not sure how DH definitely can - and she sent me away basically saying I'm imagining things.
I want to see another GP because I am very anxious about the lump and don't feel it was properly investigated/ and that I wasn't given correct advice "if you can't see a lymph node you don't need to worry about it anyway."
Except the way that Doctor appointments are guarded at the surgery means I have to call first and speak to a GP. I have tried this and I am dismissed as having already seen a GP who said there was no lump.
I feel sick with worry. AIBU to request that another GP examines me? If this is reasonable how do I word the request so that the GP allows it?

Explain you feel it's got bigger or is painful.

I'd give it another really good go with your own GP surgery. Subs you should speak to the practice manager.m

Write down some phases or even a whole script.

Don't be apologetic. Be firm and factual and insistent.

If you don't get anywhere, book a private GP appointment.

*perhaps not subs.

BUPA charge £70 for 15 minutes which is enough time.

You are allowed a second opinion. Ask for an appointment with a GP and if offered same GP say could I see someone else please? You do not have to say what it's for. That just helps them plan better. In order to physically see a GPyou may have to but a zoom consultation might be sufficient. When you see GP say something like 'dr x said he couldn't feel a lump 2 months ago but I definitely can and so can my DH so I am worried. Please can you check it out for me because I'm worried it's cancer'. You are allowed to be frightened, this is their job.

I had a lump in my neck and saw a few GPS before it was properly diagnosed. Pre Covid but it was scary.
