Someone I know isn’t worried about covid anymore as they believe they’ve already had it during the first part of the pandemic (March sorta time).

They weren’t tested at the time and had a range symptoms that to me seemed like a bad cold rather than covid but doctor at the time said to treat it like covid. So they don’t even know for definite due to lack of testing.

Also we are being told we don’t know how long we are immune before and there has been cases of people getting it twice...

They were pretty poorly last week with a cough and mild fever and didn’t isolate as they’ve had it before!

I’m gobsmacked.

I can’t tell this person what to do but they have close contact with us and my children. One of which is vulnerable so I’m staying well away this winter!!

Urgh, you'll get flamed on here. MN has done a complete u-turn from hysterical shopping washers to self-proclaimed doctors and Covid-apathists.
FWIW - I agree with you, she's stupid and an arsehole.

No one has ever isolated for nearly two weeks every time they felt under the weather.

Stay away and tell them why.

Not many people have lived through pandemics such as this one, and having specific COVID symptoms is not the same as ‘feeling under the weather’. I’ve had a cold this year, no cough or temp just a runny nose and sneezes. I didn’t isolate but I stayed in a lot more than I normally would, because I do anyway when I’m not feeling great.

YANBU. She should at least have got tested and isolated until she had the results. I believe we had it in March too, of course I don’t know for certain but we all had hacking uncontrollable coughs. We’d been at work, school, on public transport, in shops, toddler groups etc without really thinking so it seems probable it was that. We’ve still isolated awaiting test results twice because we’re not arrogant and selfish.

MimiDaisy11 · 28/10/2020 15:52

You can't control them but you can say they're acting irresponsibly, and stay away from them. There's no guidance that says if you've had it you don't need to follow the rules like everyone else. There have been cases of reinfections.
