Particularly with covid the rules vary so much between countries and areas within countries therefore giving accurate advice is difficult if don’t know where someone is.

Eg Channel Islands have different rules to England and different rules on children in Wales and Scotland

Ditto for legal issues and school admissions as they vary between the home nations too.

I think people will otherwise default to England, because that is the most populous. Which must be irksome for those in other places

I wish people would do it on house-buying threads too. Someone ALWAYS has to point out that the system is different in Scotland, even though nine times out of ten it’s irrelevant.
