To ask you wtf you could do with this bath

Found a lovely house online. Small thing- hate the bath. Obviously can just replace and not a big deal but for bath experts out there- could you just replace the weird wooden frame thing with a non hideous one?! Or potentially put little legs on the bath? It’s so strange!

Look up the bath and see if it comes with alternate footings.
Paint the legs, or decorate/tile them.
Put a vertical plastic cover around the whole bath - would need a bit of framing unless there's one made for it.

"It's so strange!" seems a bit strong.

Ickabog · 27/10/2020 18:49

I like it 😊

clarepetal · 27/10/2020 18:55

I like it too!

HowFastIsTooFast · 27/10/2020 18:56

Oooh I love it! If you don't though surely you just have it ripped out and replace it, same as with any bath?

unmarkedbythat · 27/10/2020 18:56

I like it too, sorry OP!

But yes, simple enough to disguise or replace the footings.

ChelseaCat · 27/10/2020 18:57

I agree that it looks weird OP- It look like it’s been propped up on some bits of wood 😂

Investigate Ordering some feet for the bath? Or paint the wood? Or you could always box the whole thing in

Bargebill19 · 27/10/2020 18:58

Box it in. Pain the derrière to clean under that.

Napqueen1234 · 27/10/2020 18:58

@TheHighestSardine yes perhaps I’m being OTT it’s just not something I would necessarily pick ive only ever seen freestanding baths on little feet or flat on the floor! Interesting some of you like it!

I quite like it. I'd either get wood to match or wrap/paint them in something fancy with matching stuff around.

Bellesavage · 27/10/2020 19:03

I'd have to box it in, I know not a popular option but the potential for that to become a huge spider hell hole of doom underneath is too great. Imagine them scuttling from under it. Nope.

StripeyDeckchair · 27/10/2020 19:03

I'd take the bath out & put a large shower in.
I bloody hate baths.

Jamhandprints · 27/10/2020 19:05

I like it too.

Napqueen1234 · 27/10/2020 19:06

@StripeyDeckchair there’s also a walk in shower in the other corner of the room! I need a bath as we have small kids anyway. Maybe it’s not so bad then!

DeRigueurMortis · 27/10/2020 19:08

I neither love or hate it.

If it really offends you OP you could paint the wood white and it would become far less prominent.

It isn't something I'd choose but equally, unless I planned to re-do the bathroom I wouldn't find it awful enough to replace/put new legs on.

TinyGhost · 27/10/2020 19:11

I like it, but it would be too high maintenance for me.

I could live with it for a while, but would eventually replace it.

twobrews · 27/10/2020 19:12

It looks unfinished to me, also it seems to have created two annoying spaces at either end.
I'd get rid and enjoy the extra room.

pinkprosseco · 27/10/2020 19:12

Paint the frame or box it in ?

Stigsmother · 27/10/2020 19:13

I like it!! I'd be inclined to remove the stand if you're not keen, and replace it with a plinth

WhySoSensitive · 27/10/2020 19:23

Oh I like it! You will be able to buy feet/legs though, basically a more classic version of this. Looks like an attempt at being modern!
