I don't wash my face, am I disgusting?

After years of trying different cleansers, toners and moisturisers, I realised that all they do for my skin is dry it out and make it look worse/more oily. I now use nothing. Water gets on my face in the shower but that is it. I'll use a bit of moisturiser in the winter if I feel I need it. My skin honestly looks and feels 100x better but I feel what I'm doing is somehow "wrong" and a bit grose. Anyone else?

I don't do anything special to my face. I don't wear makeup, so there's nothing to remove. I have had to start washing the bottom half of my face a bit more now I'm wearing a mask a lot, as I'm finding I get more sweaty and have had a few spots and dry patches (but mostly the mask covers that so I'm not really that fussed)

If you use makeup on your skin then you've got to use a remover to get it out of the pores. The manufacturers get your money twice - it's a scam.

There's no makeup on my skin so I just use water.

YANBU.

Funny though I was having this conversation with my mum only yesterday. I’ve not worn make up for the better part of 6 months now, and haven’t noted any sort of difference in my skin, except that when I have not used any skin care my skin feels awful. I am still getting hormonal spots and my rosacea hasn’t abated.

So you’re not unreasonable at all, but personally I find it upsetting when people with no skin issues make flippant comments about how to care for your skin. Not saying that’s you OP, but I’m sure anyone with spots or acne has been experienced it!

I really believe that using foundation powder for decades has benefitted my skin. Dm is very scathing of makeup (sees it as vain even though for me it’s more from paranoia of looking unattractive) anyway I’m certain the spf in it has helped. I religiously take it off every night of course!

I’m still not in the habit of using a separate sunscreen though I probably should
