How did you get famous? What for?
I'm incredibly curious and it's been slow tonight Smile

Ulpo · 28/10/2020 22:54

I agree.

Name change and then drop names.

PolloDePrimavera · 28/10/2020 23:01

Hopefully do you write under a pseudonym?

MissEliza · 28/10/2020 23:13

@BillywigSting I miss Brookside so much. In my late teens my Saturdays were 1)afternoon shopping 2) Brookside omnibus with either Dad's chilli or curry 3) shower 4)back into town! Happy days!

Well who gives a fuck, certainly not me, to all you people, who are impressed by famous people, they are just people, to all the people who think they are famous, get of your pedestal, unless your famous for helping people or animal's.*

Helping an animal's what?

JaneJeffer · 28/10/2020 23:35

@Whiskyinajar is he Irish?

Treats · 28/10/2020 23:42

I’m well known in a niche field which gets me recognised by others in the same niche. My niche sometimes emerges into the mainstream so I have been on TV and in the press.

seayork2020 · 28/10/2020 23:55

Generally not famous but I used to appear in my local paper a bit so was recognised locally and that was bad enough so I don't want to be known anymore than that, We used to live near a soap 'baddie' and saw him quite a bit at the shops you would not have known him if you did not know he came across as totally normal and has good taste in wine. Although I had a relative who was famous to a small community (religious) and when they found out who he was they crossed themselves at me, that was a bit creepy I found

DH seems to meet random celebrities at work and just out and about I am a bit slow on the uptake so need them pointed out to me

Alwaystired90 · 28/10/2020 23:58

My brother is becoming increasingly famous in his field. He’s on television several times a week at the moment. He’s very eloquent and is a useful ‘expert’ to interview because he is particularly good at explaining things that the people specialising in those fields aren’t good at explaining.

I don’t know that it’s great. It means he finds it a bit difficult to relate to people- and they find it difficult to relate to him. He lives in a big house, but they currently send their kids to a state school. I think that’ll have to change soon- but I don’t quite know where the kids would fit in. So it’s not so much that he’s famous- it’s more that I think it’s a bit of a weird lifestyle for his kids.

I’m trying to be a bit vague about what he’s famous in- but I’ll just be generic and say journalism.

Is your brother Martin Lewis ? Smile

StillCoughingandLaughing · 29/10/2020 00:00

This is the most disappointing Famous MNers thread ever Sad

Oh come on - are you really not excited to discover that Mrs Potts from the local primary is an MNer?

TheBigFatMermaid · 29/10/2020 00:13

I'm most definitely not famous but I am a person who makes a bit of noise in my home town. I fought for and got a park for our children,where the council has removed each piece of equipment as it broke. We ended up with a field and now have a wonderful play park.
My eldest DD, age 25 often gets 'Oh, you're BFMs daughter'. It used to annoy her, but she's over that now. The 15 year old DD has it too now, when our and about. I think because it's mostly positive, it's OK.

Nonotmenotmeatall · 29/10/2020 01:01

A friend of mine was quite the thing in gay porn for a while and one of my husband’s friends is a fairly successful mainstream director in the UK that regularly works with rather famous people. And my sil went to school with a guy that’s a tour and studio drummer for likes of Robbie Williams and Feeder etc. he’s a really down to earth guy. Oh and my ex-bil’s little brother does know banksy. So I’m not famous myself as I decided against it when I was offered a contract with a producer some 20 years ago, I know how much work goes into it and how much control you lose and how shitty backstage areas are in the music business. But locally everyone knew me as my Nan was the local postie for some 20 years we got a family pass for the local Zoo until she retired every year as it was part of her route, not in the UK, said Zoo is 100 years older than me, thank god it’s a big city and everyone knowing me fizzled out a little past my Nan’s route. lol. If I went back now there’s probably no one left that remembers now.

Nonotmenotmeatall · 29/10/2020 01:02

I do have an entry on IMDb tho as an associate producer.

DC3Dakota · 29/10/2020 01:13

@Littlepond

My DH is famous in a specific music genre. It’s quite niche and people recognise his artist name much more than his face. He’s worked with some big ish names but it’s all done on computer and emailed back and forth so he’s not actually met them face to face. It also doesn’t make us nearly as much money as it should!!!
Chicane?!
DC3Dakota · 29/10/2020 01:19

@Batteriesnotincluded1

I was in a well known Girls Band and subsequently went on to have a solo career. As silly as it sounds, I prefer my life now, less hectic, no stress. I am enjoying motherhood and the quiet life.
Emma Bunton or Melanie Chisholm? Both amazing vocalists!!
SilveryWrath · 29/10/2020 02:02

@Hopefullynamechanged935
Are you Rachel Abbott?

PhilSwagielka · 29/10/2020 02:13

@Zoflorabore

Batshittery yep you prob are correct 😉 she’s around 15 years older than my parents and she did take a shine to my mum!

I’ve just remembered another- I was at school with a member of a band called “Space” who were quite well known back in the day, we also lived in the same street.
I believe they have done very well for themselves.

OMG, which one? What did he look like/play? They’re my favourite band and they’re still going. I’ve met them a few times.
PhilSwagielka · 29/10/2020 02:21

@Badnan

Well who gives a fuck, certainly not me, to all you people, who are impressed by famous people, they are just people, to all the people who think they are famous, get of your pedestal, unless your famous for helping people or animal's.
U OK, hun?
MaliceOrgan · 29/10/2020 02:34

My half sister is pretty famous but keeps a low profile and doesn't get too much hassle from the press. Most of her close friends are famous and don't get off as easily as she does (with a couple of them it's because they have chosen to keep themselves in the public eye by selling stories and doing spreads in Hello etc).

I have met a few of her friends but she's a lot younger than me (a lot!) so although we're quite close we don't really hang out much.

Zoflorabore · 29/10/2020 04:07

PhilSwagielka it was Jamie who I was at school with. The one with the red hair, lovely lad.

AngelDelightUK · 29/10/2020 04:14

@winniestone37

My parents were involved in a scandal in the 80s and we had a brief brush with fame. It was awful!
You’ve got to tell us more now!!!
Zoflorabore · 29/10/2020 04:21

To add- we were at Primary school. I went to an all girls secondary school Smile

Thisgroupneverceasestoamazeme · 29/10/2020 06:06

There has been more than one person on this thread where I’ve wondered if they’re the OP of the famous Penis Beaker thread of 2013 Blush

7catsaremycoven · 29/10/2020 06:19

@Hopefullynamechanged935 are you LLP???

TinySongstress · 29/10/2020 06:23

My brother and his mates won the Red Bull Soapbox Race one year. Does that count? Grin

angelfacecuti75 · 29/10/2020 06:25
