To call midwife/hospital?

Not really an AIBU but posting here for traffic, sorry..

I'm 31w pregnant I have this rash on exactly one half of my bump. It's not itchy or painful, and midwife has looked at it but only briefly and dismissed my concerns about it. It's not shifting and I can't find anything like it on google etc. Anyone had it or anything similar to it, or can explain what it is? I'm a FTM and Don't really have anyone IRL to ask. Should I call triage? Thanks.

Worth checking out. It's probably nothing but it could be ICP www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/itching-obstetric-cholestasis-pregnant/

Thehop · 25/10/2020 20:17

Yup, give them a ring. Better safe and put your mind at rest

Nottherealslimshady · 25/10/2020 20:17

Ooh I'd definitely ring! How strange. Probably not a concerning thing but not worth the risk for a phonecall.

LastRoloIsMine · 25/10/2020 20:21

I had this!!

No idea what it was sorry however it was potentially some random not concerning allergy to something equally random that I have never been allergic to before or since.

Have you eaten/drank anything different or used new deodorant or shower gel/washing powder?

eatthatbueno · 25/10/2020 20:23

If that's what will put your mind at ease then do it OP! That's what they're there for. I bumped my belly a few weeks ago and the midwife was lovely and reassuring.

Crispyturtle · 25/10/2020 20:25

I’m a midwife & never seen anything like this before. If you do find out what it is, please report back, I’m intrigued!

squashpumpkinidiot · 25/10/2020 20:26

I had this. Please call. It may not be exactly as I had but I ended up delivering earlier. You can never be too careful!

JacobReesMogadishu · 25/10/2020 21:05

Another midwife here who has never seen or heard of this, I’d also like to know if you do get an answer.

itbemay1 · 04/01/2021 13:33

Hi OP did you get to the bottom this? Very intrigued. Thanks in advance.

sbhydrogen · 04/01/2021 13:37

Definitely call, it's probably nothing but not worth any risk just waiting to see if it gets better.

kbx201 · 04/01/2021 13:59

@itbemay1 no! I'm now 40+10 and still have it! It's never gone away, midwives, doctors and consultant are stumped. Just one of those things I guess!

Ahhh bless you!! Good luck baby soon. X

babypeach · 04/01/2021 14:09

It looks a bit like PEP ( www.bad.org.uk/shared/get-file.ashx?id=227&itemtype=document)
although the very definite demarcation on one side looks quite unique!

No harm in double checking with midwife if you’re concerned!

Hope you’re well OP!
