Is anyone else’s baby extremely clingy? Like full on clingy eg follows me everywhere/cries when I leave the room, cries when I hand him over to his dad, when I’m hoovering he has to hold my hand, when I’m in the kitchen I have to pick him up, when I’m playing the piano he’s clinging onto my arm, when we’re watching his tv program he holds my arm. This is so cute but It’s getting a bit too much! I feel exhausted and it’s difficult for me. I thought things get better when they get older but it’s still quite tough. I can’t just sit him down and he independently plays, I have to entertain him constantly. He goes to nursery for the past 2 months 2.5 days a week so he should be used to other ppl.

Yes my son was like this . I used to struggle to do anything I couldn’t even cook without him either attached to me or screaming . It’s hard work he calmed down a bit when he was 2 and was easier to talk to and explain. He was never good at sleeping by himself always napped on me. I used to take that time to just cuddle and rest though.

Thanks @Buzlightyear1. Yes, a lot of mums say by the time they reach 2 they get easier. Gosh I can only cook either when he has his afternoon nap or if my husband is around to look after him. I definitely couldn’t do it if my son was awake!! My boy was a terrible sleeper till 6 months.. then 11 months he was sleeping through, 13-14hrs a night!! But for the past week he’s been waking up each night for 2-3hrs!! It’s exhausting and I really hope this is the 18 month sleep regression and that I don’t have another coming Soon!!!

Yes, my 18 month old is exactly the same. She won't do anything independently. I get a break when she's with her dad but it has to be one of us. She's just started watching TV but won't do it alone. Sadly her big sister won't do either, it has to be me or DH
