Ahh so your children are nearly 2 and 3. Anybody else find it really bizarre to refer to older children in months (or AIBU?!)

The first year they are referred to months and after that in years. It is really weird that people use precise months for older children.

I used months until 18 months. After that it was nearly 2, just turned 2, 2 and a half, coming up 3 etc, if necessary, or otherwise just “he’s 2” was sufficient a lot of the time.

I lose track after 24 months and when someone say 30 whatever months, I literally have to calculate it as I have no idea what a 36 month old is in “real terms”!

@SunniCameHomeWithAVengeance

Any idea what to get my 216 months old for Christmas?
I nearly fell out of my chair laughing the first time I read this, and have done so every time I check back for new messages! I have a 480 months old to buy for, and I'm stumped! The 468 moths old is easy.

I used months up to 2 yo, now its just years. Especially the older ones. I don’t sound quite so old saying I have an 18 yo even though he is 19 it a fortnight 😆

We'll talk about this again when they are almost 40 and almost 41! Then you quit thinking in terms of "quite so" old. It's actually quite freeing!
