Friend (not a close friend) has become involved with a MLM company over the past year. She is constantly adding me and everyone else on her FB friends list to groups regarding her 'business', chat groups about it, and tagging me and many others in daily posts about competitions she is running and new products. Literally every single day she adds me to something or tags me.

Yesterday, she did a massive rant on FB about people adding her to their 'business groups' and 'trying to sell stuff to her' and said anyone who does it to her in the future will get deleted and blocked!

AIBU to think she's got a fucking cheek moaning about this? She is quite fond of trying to dictate (via FB status) about what others think/do/say whilst doing that very thing herself, but this takes the biscuit!

I've been very tempted to put on something about Pot and Kettle but she's one of those types who gets 'upset' very easily

It's always a case of 'I can do as I please so don't you dare question me' in her attitude.

You are not being UR, it is a pain in the arse and if you add in the hypocrisy you have described a valid reason to sabotage her internet connection so she can never post again, ever. And when I say ever, I mean ever. Good luck. If you need technical advice then let me know.

Just take a screenshot of her post and next time she adds you or tags you, post the screenshot as a response. It's hard to argue with yourself.

Why don't you just stop being friends with her? Why do people waste their lives getting annoyed at people like this...and call them friends.

Why is she your friend? She sounds awful.

I think you should fight fire with fire - post a status about how much you hate people who are so lacking in self awareness that they keep posting about how much they hate their own behaviour in others!

FB rarely upsets me, I find it useful for knowing what's going on locally and keeping in (light) touch with old friends and acquaintances I actually like, but my feed doesn't have any of this nonsense. They might be posting but I don't see it

She gets away with it, OP, because people like you sit back and LET HER!!! If she's not a close friend, why do you even CARE what she says to you in return? Jesus stand up to her! CFers get away with it because of enablers like yourself.

This behaviour is called projection and may be a sign of a personality disorder

So what if she does get upset? One thing age and lockdown has taught me is life is too short for dickheads. Go all Marie Kondo on her arse, does she give you joy? Then out she goes.
