My blood is boiling. Some MPs have claimed up to 88k in expenses in the last year. Maybe they should budget properly, and stop wasting money on alcohol, tvs and holiday?

Most definitely you're NOT being unreasonable.

I want to know too.

My MP, who was only elected in December, has claimed in excess of £40k to May this year. Shock

Maybe the number pupils on free school meals in their constituency could be published against the MPs name.

YANBU as long as you inform yourself about what the number represents.
I think people imagine that MPs are claiming these huge amounts for their own personal use.
In reality MPs expenses might cover the wages of 4 or 5 other people, rent on an office, electricity, stationary, payments to community centres that host their surgeries and so on.
Some of the MPs with the highest expense claims represent remote areas. It unavoidably costs them more to travel to London.
The duck house days are long gone. IPSA keeps them on a pretty tight leash.

No
I firmly believe that we need root & branch reform of Parliament and how it operates.
Too many career politicians in it for the money.
