I know we’ve had this thread before, but there’s a barrel-load of infuriatingly shit advertising out there, so I think it’s time for another one Grin

Your starters for ten:

McDonald’s - boy gets his mum’s old car for his birthday. Looks at it like she iced his birthday cake in shit. Eventually decides free car isn’t so bad, blasts out a bit of Westlife and then presents her with a cold box of nuggets - paid for with the change SHE left in the car. Yeah, thanks mum - here’s some cheap fast food YOU paid for! Not even a bloody McFlurry for afters!

Phillips shavers/depilators etc., where everything is a badly-written little poem. ‘If shaving is boring and you can’t be arsed, Phillips hyperblade precision technology will remove stubble fast’.

The new Asda campaign. I know Walmart is selling Asda off, so it’s not a priority brand, but surely they could have afforded more than 46p on the ad budget? Although I think the agency got change.

Go Compare man has a chat with his real-life self. Why do we need a promo for his opera ‘career’ when they’re trying to flog insurance?

I know I’ll think of more...

The adds one and the new mum tena lady oh the tamoax one they are awful

TheoriginalLEM · 27/10/2020 17:30

The nationwide ads - fuck off

The ad where they are designing wedding dresses and want to sketch up a few ideas - i don't even know who its from because ive deliberately blanked it out

TheoriginalLEM · 27/10/2020 17:32

The Hugo boss advert - i like that song you fuckers

TheWernethWife · 27/10/2020 17:47

I'm 60 and have 4 pairs of Hotter Nirvana shoes. So bloody easy to wear and not old lady shoes at all.

cafenoirbiscuit · 27/10/2020 17:48

I hate the Wayfair ones. I don’t care if you want to be Fancy, Lorraine Kelly, I’d rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon than shop there. Makes my teeth itch 😡

NotAKaren · 27/10/2020 17:58

Tena lady pants - 'a little bit of wee is not going to stop me being me'.
Vagasil - Virginal Dryness, who wants to see that advert at tea time?
Viagra - awful man dancing around in his pants and socks completely puts me off
Anusol - pile cream, just unnecessary

These things belong in the pharmacy and bathroom cabinet and should stay there.

ShatnersWig · 27/10/2020 18:11

Estrella Damm beer with the underwater swimming woman. Just goes on and bloody on.

And, of course, FUCKING ASDA.

TheWernethWife · 27/10/2020 18:23

Hate the ASDA one. They must live in a bloody enormous house to do trick or treating in the rooms they go in. Opening doors and trying to look scary. As Jim Royle would say, my arse

The guy is an annoying twat as well.

funnylittlefloozie · 27/10/2020 18:33

I hate the one for the German caffeine shampoo with the blonde woman who simpers "its for women - over 40". The way she whispers "over 40", much like you might whisper "women who stab puppies" or "women who murdered their husbands with axes". Stupid advert. Is the shampoo any good?

Im considering dobbing that Numan shit in to the TRAs. Why is an erectile dysfunction treatment only aimed at men? Women can have penises too...

FatimaMunchy · 27/10/2020 18:41

Allegedly it is Germany's most popular shampoo.

FatimaMunchy · 27/10/2020 18:43

I now have Hotter shoe adverts popping up on my phone.Hmm

Shitonthebloodything · 27/10/2020 18:52

That's HASDA price!

Annoys the shit out of me. Why did they pick a man who can't say the name of the company? And the other one with the incoherent pocket tap thing. Argh.

FatimaMunchy · 27/10/2020 18:54

They used to have the pocket tap years ago to show how much you save by shopping at Asda.

Shitonthebloodything · 27/10/2020 18:55

I get the reference it's just that he doesn't say it coherently. So irritating!

Toomuchtooyoung01 · 27/10/2020 18:56

There's an advert I keep seeing for a company called Studio.co.uk and the women's voiceover irritates the shit out of me. She sounds so disingenuous as she pretends to marvel at the inflatable Christmas decorations, I don't know why but it really grates on me

thenightsky · 27/10/2020 19:23

Bum! Hips! Heart! But how do I keep my mouth healthy?

Keep it shut love, that'll stop you getting a smack in it. Grin

Also, if she thinks she can hide the fact that she’s ‘over 40’ by whispering, it’s not a Jew shampoo she needs - it’s a new mirror.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 27/10/2020 21:21

Jew?! Fucking autocorrect 🤬

Mytimetokillandmaim · 27/10/2020 21:31

Omg Grin

PercyKirke · 27/10/2020 21:44

The Grammarly ones on YouTube. Piss me off something rotten!

PercyKirke · 27/10/2020 21:45

Oh yes and the Welsh guy who is telling me I'm ignorant about funeral costs.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 27/10/2020 22:17

The way she whispers "over 40", much like you might whisper "women who stab puppies" or "women who murdered their husbands with axes". Stupid advert.

I hated that too - I even started a thread about it ages ago, so much did it irritate me Grin

I think the message must have slowly got through to them now, though, as they just say 'women' and have edited out the 'over 40'.

It's Natalie Casey, who played Donna in Two Pints Of Lager. She used that same hyperbolic voice in TPOL and it just sounds to me like she's seriously mocking the awful products that she's being paid to advertise - like when the audience used to laugh at the terrible prizes on Blankety Blank and Bullseye!

Ohmygoodnessbreathe · 27/10/2020 23:11

“I’ve finally found bladder leak underwear that’s pretty” says the woman on the advert, saying ‘pretty’ in such an annoying way.
“No l, you haven’t” I reply.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 27/10/2020 23:42

Adverts give me the rage in general and why is the volume so much higher when they come on than the programme I have been watching? That winds me up before the adverts have even started! My current rage inducing advert is for ‘slack’ the one where all the workforce are working from home (they all look like they are doing anything but work) the irritating music gets louder and louder and faster and faster as the advert goes on, it literally gives me the rage, and then ‘so proud of this team’ bit at the end argh 😤 fuck off and do some real work.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 28/10/2020 00:02

Complete the clean with listerine. That bloody stupid donkey. I have to mute it..
And the guy who cant shut his bedroom door. Put a chair in front of it you pillock, instead of writing a shite poem.
