Bubbles in different tiers

What happens if you are single and now been put in tier 2 and your social bubble (that you have been in since it was allowed months ago) is in tier 1? Are we allowed in restaurants together?

The way we read it is that your bubble counts as your household so you can be with them but no others

Bubble =household. So you can do with your bubble whatever household can do.

So in all tiers you can be indoors and eat out together

CoralFish · 23/10/2020 09:18

But does that mean the Tier 1 people in your bubble have to follow the rules of Tier 2? So can they meet in a group of up two six (mixed households) indoors?

Merryoldgoat · 23/10/2020 09:29

A support bubble counts as a household and so you can carry on as ‘normal’.

Dishwashersaurous · 23/10/2020 09:36

If a tier two person is present in the bubble then no other people

Feelingconfused2020 · 23/10/2020 09:41

My understanding is that you can treat it as though they are your household and so yes you can go to restaurants with them because restaurants are still open in tier two but because you are tier two you have to always live by those restrictions so can't go to pubs and drink with no food even though they can.

It gets a bit silly so I would make a reasonable judgment but always living by tier two rules.

Thanks.
So can I eat in a tier 1 restaurant or do they have to go to a tier 2 restaurant?

Location doesn’t matter but ideally tier two people are not supposed to do unnecessary journeys

TheDowagerDuchessofMwwwahaha · 23/10/2020 13:35

It depends if the restaurant is in tier 1 or tier 2.

There are no tier 1 people or tier 2 people, only places.

TheDowagerDuchessofMwwwahaha · 23/10/2020 13:37

Actually I think you can go to restaurants with your bubble wherever the restaurant is. But they’re only going to question you if the restaurant is in tier 2z.

CharlieCoCo · 23/10/2020 15:48

We will be meeting in tier 1. Just not sure if we are allowed in a restaurant to eat.

Thanks everyone. I think we will eat inside now and not have a rain picnic lol

Yes you can.
