to ask if marriage counselling worked for you

My 20 plus year relationship has completely broken down. We are currently not talking. If you’ve been in a similar position did marriage counselling work for you? What were your experiences please? Did you manage to pull it back from the brink?

I think it does work. But in the sense that it really helps to see who and where you are. It can lead to a split
But not talking is hell. Flowers
You can't live like this so you need to do something.
Do you know what you want? Would some counselling for you first help?
(BTW - if you do end up divorcing and want to take the lead it might be wise to keep a diary of these episodes as they count as unreasonable behaviour.)

It really helped me post split.... was a bit late by the time we started. Had one session jointly before his EA came to light.

OP, I commented on your last thread. What do you personally hope to gain from marriage counselling? Is he pushing for this?

Fortunategirl · 22/10/2020 18:14

No he’s not. I’m pushing for it in the hope it might work?
