I've had enough! I need to move out of london asap. I'm a single mum to two black ds who will be starting secondary school in a years time and I'm sure like most parents its terrifying.
I had an open morning with a school that I like and it filled me with so much anxiety about them not being safe in the area we live in.
There are constant knife attacks, robberies and drugs everywhere on the estate where we live, that it fills me with dread at the thought of letting my dc outside to play, they want to walk home from school alone but have to walk through a park that is notorious for crime, so I won't let them do it.
I've just lost my job due to covid so now would be the most perfect time to leave as we would have no ties, but I don't know where to go.
Obviously I would like some sort of diversity with good secondary schools, decent jobs and hopefully a smaller crime rate.
I just can't sit back and watch my sons potentially fall through the cracks. We would at first be renting privately, but in the long run either go to the council or save enough for a deposit to buy.
So can anyone reccomend any decent areas please?
