encourage earthquakes whilst on live TV. First Jacinda Ardern and now Katrín Jakobsdóttir. Just what are these women creating here? Which country is next?

I think AFlockOfKnots intended the OP to be lighthearted and pithy so kept it very short. But that only works if you know the story behind it which a lot of us didn't, hence the confusion.

Some explanation in the OP would have made it a different thread. It's not a sense of humour failure, it's not knowing the context.

YellowHighlighterPen · 21/10/2020 13:33

It's funny.

Sorry if posted twice!

@AFlockOfKnots

I’m gonna call it Op is a weirdo with an even weirder sense of humour

PriceEmUp · 21/10/2020 14:24

When I read the original post I didn’t have a clue what OP was on about, then I saw the first link and watched it.. started to catch on but still wasn’t sure.. then I say the second link and realised what OP meant and thought it was funny.

At no point did I feel the need to be an absolute fucknugget to the OP. Some of you dismissed the links and still had a tantrum for not understanding what was going on. Had you took the time of day to open the link you’d understand.

Mumsnet has indeed, become an even more unbearable place since last year.

Caroncanta · 21/10/2020 14:32

They both dealt with that very well. That's so funny, I hadn't seen it before. Nerves of steel.

AFlockOfKnots · 21/10/2020 14:48

Nobody has been a fucknugget to me. Only themselves.

Repeat, who uses fuckwitted gendered words like " brunette" these days ? Apart from the OP of course....

TheWhalrus · 21/10/2020 15:05

As a man, i can verify that boobquakes are real. Provided you replace the term 'earthquake' with 'temporary disturbance of concentration'.

On another note, should Finland be expecting an earthquake soon?

As I woman, I can verify that you sound like a prick.

Going for the dog whistle there, OP?

DrGachet · 21/10/2020 15:28

I thought men with brown hair can also be described as brunette? (That's how I describe them anyway).

jessstan1 · 21/10/2020 15:32

I just read something similar posted by a person on a forum I frequent. It is a strange coincidence that earthquakes happened in different places while both were being interviewed. My fellow poster commented on the fact they were both unphased by the occurrences. Well, they are women so of course they would be.

jessstan1 · 21/10/2020 15:34

PS: Another poster (male) commented that they were probably used to being asked by their partners if the earth moved. Typical, yawn.

AFlockOfKnots · 21/10/2020 15:39

@TheEmpressOfUtterBastardry
A quick Google tells me it is a word very much in use, why do you think it is 'fuckwitted gendered' (and what does that mean exactly)?

OP posts:
Esspee · 21/10/2020 16:05

Well I haven’t bothered reading the links as I thought straight away about the two Prime Ministers and I remembered that idiot Iranian religious nut who claimed women dressing immodestly caused earthquakes. I didn’t get the brunette reference but even without that it was a clever post by the OP.

DioneTheDiabolist · 21/10/2020 16:23

Things like this make me grateful that our PM is a blonde man.Grin
