I had some as a teenager and loved them
. Seen a pair on eBay. I'm 39 and apparently completely unfashionable. I have a reputation for quirky shoes though.

Pish to 'fashionable' Wear what you like.

BetsyBigNose · 21/10/2020 05:44

I had 3 pairs in the late 90's and wore all of them to death - I literally wore a groove the shape of the soles of my feet into a navy blue backless pair I had. I remember missing a step (lucikly only one from the bottom!) on my way into my local nightclub and spending the night sitting at the end of the bar with a black rubbish bag filled with ice on my foot and ankle and drinking vodka and redbull to 'numb the pain' - I ended up on crutches for a few weeks!

Buy them @Toddlerteaplease, I was browsing online for them a few weeks ago after seeing them for sale in a shoe shop in town, but I am informed by my teenage DD that at 40, not only am I too old for them, "no one wears them" anyway... I can't really justify buying them for myself, as I've nowhere to wear them, but you should definitely go for it - and post a pic of the ones you choose!

I've emailed to check if they are a 41 and then I will get them. I used to have loads of boots by Swear. I loved them as well!

I wear them all the time and I’m 36. People do comment on them, but mostly positive/curious. Only downside is I have to take them off to drive!

Zoecarter · 21/10/2020 08:03

They are back in fashion I’ve just bought a couple of pairs from Schue

nancybotwinbloom · 21/10/2020 08:13

What are these boots?

nancybotwinbloom · 21/10/2020 08:15

I've just found these after a quick search. I might ask for them for Christmas or do people think they are hideous?

The young uns are wearing them so very trendy again!

kittykarate · 21/10/2020 09:44

My Buffalo boots perished :( I was walking to get the bus into town for a night out and all the rubber turned to dust and just peeled off. I'm blaming some kind of weird corrosive substance they must have encountered in an Ibiza club back in the day..

LeSquigh · 21/10/2020 11:46

I also love Buffalo but my DP and kids mock me endlessly about my love for them which is why I have never bought any. Also, I have to drive a lot so not sure how much use I would get out of a pair.

StormzyInaDCup · 21/10/2020 15:15

I was so excited to see what these were and buy a new comfy pair of boots! Ladies what are these 😂 I must have missed them in the 90s, I'm not complaining... Too funny 🙈

Oldraver · 21/10/2020 15:20

Ive still got two pairs from my clubbing days. A purple pair and a grey but with all over glitter pair. They were brill inn the rain due to the platform soles and also if you were in a sticky club

Plus you could dance all night in them. Prunella Scales always wears a pair on the canal boat programme and she is about 80

LemonBreeland · 21/10/2020 15:21

I had all back ones, bloody loved them. They made me taller. I want some again now.

Namechangeme87 · 21/10/2020 15:25

That chunky style of trainer is back in anyway

Get them !!!

peakygal · 21/10/2020 15:26

I loved mine!! My 17 yo and 12yo DD wear similar style cos they are coming back!!

nevermorelenore · 21/10/2020 16:46

These are back in aren't they? The chunkier the better it seems! Not that you should care if you love them.

Unfortunately after posting this, I got my payslip and as I was off sick for all of September, I'm down £250 so can't really justify it. ConfusedSad

I want a pair too as loved them when I was younger and are dead comfy- there is a more subtle pair of their trainers (Corin) I have found reduced for around fifty quid and some bargain sandals at Soletrader reduced by a hundred quid to thirty pounds- thinking of getting them as something to look forward to wearing in less harrowing times... The USA flag motif ones are reduced to £61 from £210- I wonder why!
Toddlerteaplease · 21/10/2020 19:30

It's these ones

The chai! Saw them on offer somewhere when I looked at this thread again- have a quick google...
doctorboo · 21/10/2020 20:31

Ah memories I got mine from a high street shop in the late nineties. Wore them with my grunge gear. Much loved as they boosted my 5ft stature.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/10/2020 20:34

Might go and try a pair on in schuh tomorrow

The cheapest I saw were 65 pounds from Footway but depending on what foot size you are can get cheaper Corinnas which are similar on House of Fraser and other websites ( 45 quid!) Definitely didn't accidentally buy a pair....if you like quirky shoes then look at Art Company on ebay as can sometimes get a bargain- you probably already know of them though!
