To not tell my DS about his flu jab?

My DS (13) is getting a flu jab on Saturday.

He is terrified of jabs. WIBU not to tell him? And when should I tell him?

You know him best. Is he worse if he’s had ages to worry about things in advance or does having chance to feel prepared make it easier for him to cope?

I hate needles and my doctor used to always spring the flu jab on me when I was seeing her for something else (obviously she asked before jabbing me!) which was great for me as I had no time to work myself up about it.

My 12 year old is the same. We talked to him and told him this year it makes sense because we all want to stay as well as possible. I do always talk to him because I always remember when he was younger them getting vaccines in the school and I was next to a mother telling her son it wouldn't hurt and he came out in absolute shock. If it helps out of 4 kids 3 didn't even realise she'd done it(including him!) We did have a hairy moment waiting where we thought he was going to run though. Best of luck!
