To want a normal functioning thyroid

I know I'm not being unreasonable I guess but I've reposted here as the other boards don't seem to get any traction.

I miscarried due to thyroid issue which has gone undetected for many years.

Since diagnosed a few months ago as severely overactive, I've had meds but they gave me too much at 200mg or originally carbimazole but as I informed them last month I'm planning on starting a family they switched me to Propyltjiouracil.

200ng has now made me underactive thyroid And I feel like this is never ending.

My meds have now been dropped to 25mg instead of 200mg under doctors advice and I haven't had a blood test to see if rectified but feel I'm still not myself and know the levels aren't right.

Any advice shall I just conceive anyway? If not how long should I wait and how much 'trial and error' am I likely to go through?

Any doctors our there or non doctors that have had a similar issue I'd really appreciate advice 💓

@user675761 I asked my gp they said it has to come from consultant to avoid getting lost and also to ensure the right bloods are taken. It's making me really pissed with NHS right now no one seems to give a shit. Hats off to frontline workers right my now but everyone else seems to be taking the piss using covid as an excuse

I am currently in the same situation as you OP, although I am not TTC at the moment. I was diagnosed with Graves' disease a few months ago and an overactive thyroid. I'm now starting to think I have gone underactive because I also think they left me on the wrong dose.

Throughout the whole process I feel as though I have been left completely in the dark and I have had to educate myself on 90% of it all. Hope you manage to get it sorted, such a frustrating thing to put up with x
