I can't find the water switches for washing machine

I've just moved into a house. I've plumbed my washing machine but can't find the switches to connect the water. Usually it's a blue and red one which you just lever up or down. They're no where to be seen and I don't know what to do!

So the pipes were there but no switch?
Is there a screw on the side of the pipe you’ve connected the machine to? We have a couple of pipes that need a screwdriver to turn the water on/off.

How have you "plumbed it in?" do you mean connected the hose(es)?
You need to follow the pipework to find the valves ("switches")

Thanks for your replies. I've connected just the cold hose as my washer heats up the water itself.

Do I need to turn the screw on that then @DynamoKev? Is there two, one for the cold and one for the hot?

Yes - if this valve is what you have you will need to turn it on using a flat blade screwdriver.
I have no idea whether you have both hot and cold - but if you have connected only the cold (like our washing machine) then you only need to turn on the cold to the machine.
