To want a new sofa?

I've been looking for a second hand sofa for my static caravan for months on end and have been gobsmacked at the prices people are asking for anything half decent. DH is a tightwad (when it comes to anything household but if it's for him only the best will do no objections) He could peel an orange in his pocket with his eyes closed he's that tight.
Anyway at home I have a 4 seater lounger and a large 2 seater sofa bed that are 6 and a half years old that do have loads of life left in them and so I'm thinking about buying new sofas for home and taking these 2 sofas to my caravan instead of buying second hand. DH response "you can forget that, there's nothing wrong with the one up there!" The "one" (sofa) up the van I bought second hand for £40 in 2013 it's got loft boards and a piece of old foam mattress under the cushions to stop it sagging. AIBU to want to be comfortable in my little haven 🤷 It's not like we can't afford new for home he just thinks that a 6 year old sofa is not that old. Is he right or AIBU about that too?

If he'll happily spend money on an item that's just for himself then he hasn't got a leg stand on.

Upholstery foam is dirt cheap on eBay & will give new life to the caravan sofa if that helps. Pound shop 1001 carpet shampoo will revive the upholstery . Just whisk till you have enough foam.,then follow instructions. Staple gun back on if covers aren't removable .
