My partner walks into the room changes the channel to football half way though a movie.

It’s happened a lot when I finally questioned it he says I’m starting an argument and refuses to talk ....

Eh? What's right about that ??

Aquamarine1029 · 17/10/2020 23:39

Your partner is a selfish arsehole. I'd be willing to bet the tv isn't the only issue.

You can do better.

Anordinarymum · 17/10/2020 23:39

If mine did that he would get my boot right up his arse

GirlCrush · 17/10/2020 23:39

were you watching or scrolling mn?

Anordinarymum · 17/10/2020 23:39

And no argument either. Change it back. Grow a pair.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/10/2020 23:45

Why did this happen a lot before you questioned it... and why 'questioned' rather than told him straight that's not on?

If the match is live and the film can be finished later then it would be reasonable for him to ask if he could change the channel, and in that case I'd let him but it sounds like he just thinks he's way more important than you.

ABalancedMind · 17/10/2020 23:58

Umm no it’s not the only issue as it happens lol .... just the one that’s broken the camels back thanks 🙏🏻

Watching a movie 🎥

I watch TV and read at the same time.

This would really piss me off. It takes a second to ask if you are watching this.

You didn't start an argument, he did.

In future sit on the remote. Good luck to him then.

Feelingconfused2020 · 18/10/2020 00:04

Get rid.

user1473878824 · 18/10/2020 00:06

What a total dickhead.

LockdownLump · 18/10/2020 00:07

YANBU. What an absolute fucking prick.

Shizzlestix · 18/10/2020 00:14

Do you say ‘Hey, I’m watching that’ and switch it back? If not, why not?

Murmurur · 18/10/2020 00:22

The most worrying part of your OP is "It's happened a lot when I finally questioned it..."

Err, it's damned rude even as a one off, massively disrespectful if it's habitual. If this is a sign of how he treats you generally, I worry you've lost sight of how a normal, respectful partner would treat the woman he loves.

ABalancedMind · 18/10/2020 00:28

I probably have and needed to be reminded so thank you for your advice

goisey · 18/10/2020 00:33

My ex did this.
He really didn't give a shit about me.
That's why he's my ex.
There's only so much disrespect you can take before you get irreversibly damaged.
