Not friends with this person but it is my local area Facebook group, very handy for selling and buying stuff and local info, so won't come off of it .

Someone has put a post up of a small child in a hospital before with a cannula in and looking unwell.

Saying share this and she gets a £ towards her kidney transplant.

Who the fuck starts these stupid sick posts?

OP posts:
Rotundandhappy · 17/10/2020 09:29

People who share these things really are thick as shit.

SimplyPizza · 17/10/2020 09:52

I find it puzzling when people froth about Facebook but say they have no intention of stopping using it Confused

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 17/10/2020 10:04

Idiots. I don't see how people that dim get through life.

Also when someone posts missing pets from different countries. I lived abroad for years and posted pets missing in that place. A Facebook friend also shared them. She lived in the UK. I see it a lot. Dog missing in Texas. Woman in Derby posts it. Sometimes people share stuff from years ago, stolen cars, pets. Muppets. But then Facebook is full of shit Grin

whatsyournamenow · 17/10/2020 10:18

Yeah frothing about FB is ridiculous @SimplyPizza ! Glad I don't do it 🙄

Laaalaaaa · 17/10/2020 10:20

It’s facebook, people post and will continue to post all manner of ridiculous things. You don’t like it, unfollow the page or scroll on - simple.

whatsyournamenow · 17/10/2020 10:28

Read the OP @Laaalaaaa ? Just an ideas.

It covers all that off.

Doesn't mean I have to flounce and unfollow, just a "musing" as to why people do it really?

Do people think they're real? Do people think you have to buy a new kidney?

I'm not going to lose any sleep over it!

OP posts:
whatsyournamenow · 17/10/2020 10:30

Agreed @Rotundandhappy and people that start them must be bloody mad!

OP posts:
Laaalaaaa · 17/10/2020 10:35

I did read it hun. If I don’t like something I simply scroll past - certainly don’t jump onto other forums and start a rant about it. Scrolling means it doesn’t enter headspace -unlike yersel.

whatsyournamenow · 17/10/2020 10:37

Glad you read the title and commented hiun, @Laaalaaaa glad you gave me some headspace!

Scroll on by, don't be spending your time trying to tell me what to do, when I've already told you my intentions.

You're an Internet random, I won't be taking your advice hun!

OP posts:
Laaalaaaa · 17/10/2020 10:47

Don’t post on a forum then sweetie if you don’t want people to respond. That’s not how the internet works babes.

whatsyournamenow · 17/10/2020 10:49

I do love all the PA hun and sweeties @Laaalaaaa ! Really cool 😎!

OP posts:
DynamoKev · 17/10/2020 10:49

Stop using Facebook it is shit

whatsyournamenow · 17/10/2020 10:51

Don't go on FB, don't go on a forum, anything else I can't do @Laaalaaaa !

How about you don't worry about what I go on? Worry about yourself?

OP posts:
Laaalaaaa · 17/10/2020 10:52

Glad you like them - it’s made my day that has. Calling me cool is the icing on the cake. Validation from some ridiculous poster on here is delightful.

whatsyournamenow · 17/10/2020 10:55

I find the local page really useful @DynamoKev , it's says why in my OP.

Honestly, things aren't all black and white!

It's not a case of never using it because of this, it's a case of wondering why people do it.

Can we really not have a conversation without it being "come off FB", it's not interfering or causing distress in my life. Then I would accept such a severe reaction.

OP posts:
Laaalaaaa · 17/10/2020 10:56

I didn’t actually tell you not to do either of those things though did I? I said if things like that bother you scroll past or leave the page - not to not use Facebook. I didn’t say not to go on a forum - I suggested if you didn’t like what people were going to respond with not to post. You’ve clearly interpreted wrong.

StillDumDeDumming · 17/10/2020 11:01

It is an interesting question though isn’t it. Do people think you need to buy a kidney? I use FB for connecting with certain people. You could contact the page admins and get it taken down.

Brefugee · 17/10/2020 11:02

report it to the admin and block the user?

whatsyournamenow · 17/10/2020 11:31

@StillDumDeDumming exactly! You don't need money for a kidney transplant, you need an available donor.

I think particular post has been going for years. It's such utter nonsense!

Although in fairness you see a lot less of this type of post than a few years ago.

I'm happy to scroll on by, but just wondered who actually thinks to keep posting this nonsense. Everyone you talk to just says "yeah utter rubbish", but someone put there must believe it?

OP posts:
Rotundandhappy · 17/10/2020 13:05

Why are people so nasty on here sometimes?

picklemewalnuts · 17/10/2020 13:16

You need better admin on the page, why not volunteer?

Also, your job is to comment 'this is a scam, please don't like and share'. Include a link to snopes or similar, and report the post.

Turtleturtle81 · 17/10/2020 13:23

@Laaalaaaa

I did read it hun. If I don’t like something I simply scroll past - certainly don’t jump onto other forums and start a rant about it. Scrolling means it doesn’t enter headspace -unlike yersel.
You know you can take your own advice, right?
whatsyournamenow · 17/10/2020 14:22

Absolutely no way would I consider running a Facebook page @picklemewalnuts! I totally admire the people that do, but I wouldn't do it.
