why is it that when you want to sell something that you paid lots for, people think they can have it for next to nought?

I've said that I don't know why she suddenly needs money but tbh I bought a cheap pram that does the job and have money in savings. It means that if anything did come up I'd be able to manage for quite a while.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 12/10/2007 23:15

you arent asking a lot really for it are you. what fabric is it?

DavidTennantsMistress · 12/10/2007 23:15

have you tried an auction for it? my friend (honestly I swear it's not me) does pte listings then bumps it up until she has a price she's happy whit using her mums account.

nappynuttynormabutty · 12/10/2007 23:16

I'm sorry but you've paid £600 for a pram that you family helped you buy. That is so not on.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 12/10/2007 23:17

nappy, maybe they wanted to buy it for her?

david thatsd called shill bidding and she could get booted off for that, tell her to be careful.

i always wish there was a 'dont take the piss' button on ebay when declining silly best offers.

DavidTennantsMistress · 12/10/2007 23:19

why is it not nutty - if it's the one the OP wanted then it's up to them what they do with it - we were given a set amount for a pram and if it was any more we would have had to make the difference up. as a first GC my folks wanted to do it. they certainly wouldn't begrudge me selling DS's one they brought if it meant I would have the space and money if needed.

perhaps if we saw the wording/link or something we might help with that bit?

Nataz26 · 12/10/2007 23:19

huh nappy! Ever heard of bugaboos they are more! Sorry for wanting a pram that would last.

Its boston check so not very in at the mo, got it on ebay but just checked other ones and most are going for less than 50.

OP posts:
DavidTennantsMistress · 12/10/2007 23:20

lvc - I said it was against the rules of ebay but she seemed un phased. not me and has been warned so up to her now

DavidTennantsMistress · 12/10/2007 23:21

prob best to keep it then - I would tbh I think and try to riase the cash elsewhere - I loved the boston check one with DS but it was impratical/we couldn't stretch that much! lol.

Sorry but there is no way I would accept that much money from family and buy an expensive pram when there are plenty of cheaper ones that do the same job. I'd rather they spent the money on stuff my LO could actually enjoy/use. They could have put £500 in a savings account for her LO. I doubt v much when her baby grows up it'll be grateful that it's mum bought a £600 pram that she only kept for 6 months. Now £500 in a savings account would prob be appreciated.

Nataz26 · 12/10/2007 23:23

Desperate for cash - hell yeah. Not everyone on here is well off - no offence. And just to clear it up it was bought by my lo's g-grandma who wouldnt take no for an answer.

Didnt expect that!

ChantillyLace · 12/10/2007 23:24

I cant get my head round this £600!

I paid £180 for a brand name travel system, pram/pushchair, car seat, foot muff, rain cover, etc etc

Not being rude at all, just am speechless as to why someone would spend so much! Unless of course you're loaded, but even so!

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 12/10/2007 23:24

ah boston check isnt selling well at all. have u got pics on it on your listing?

cleanign it all up, clean the wheels, (yes really) wash fabrics etc, make3 it sparkle. then do some good pictures and a really goood description.

nappynuttynormabutty · 12/10/2007 23:24

My pram was under £100, suitable from birth. Car seat can be clipped into it. After 6 months of lots of use it's going strong and I wouldn't swap it for anything else. It gets on my nerves when people pay a fortune for a pram and then sell it a few months later cos they need cash desperately.

DavidTennantsMistress · 12/10/2007 23:24

nat - you do not have to justify that.

nutty - that's your own opinion but other people do not always see things the same way.

for us personally we went for a cheaper pram and used the remainder to buy other baby stuff- moniters etc etc, but now I wish i'd got the one I really wanted in the first place.

NotAnOtter · 12/10/2007 23:24

prams are more than just prams
